PVP bots?

How legal should it be for someone to use a bot to pvp with? Like playing 2 accounts and making the other one use a macro that makes it attack other players for you.

Essentially AFKing on the second char, but having it assist you while pvping with its own macro.

Should this be legal?

I think it would be hilarious to see BUT i think setting up bots to kill people is just LAME. Also i don;t ever remember seeing people do that T2A or anytime after.

Stupid question, but can't you just move your leet pvp battle 1 screen away?

And if people have archer bots in an "empty" town, it seems to me it wouldn't be that hard to get them deep in stat, then EQ or MS them to death.

this was brought up long ago, i had actually made some bots- they ran completely off of guild chat -via razor system message inserts. I was told at the time, it was frowned upon, and not to use it. these bots weren't simple archer bots (i've been told those are fine, as long as you're not exceeding the maximum numbers of clients per real person playing *3 per person*) these bots would load explosion, sync targets and ebolts and follow up with weapon equips *archer/mages*

it was actually hilarious- ask Derrick he let me show him and, mahees i believe in my old tower by chaos shrine, i dropped derrick in one shot and he had like 200 hp or so, ,ofcoarse it was back when bow shots were instant dmg. anyhow- i think the archers are fine, and the actual following and casting bots are illegal. Though, I'd love to see the admin/gm's words on this too.

This does bring up another good topic tho. Using guild chat for sync calls. Imagine how many folks out there use it. It puts in perfect sync and for everyone that's in guild and has it runnin. It's a very simple macro to make to. I remember not very long ago there were guilds running around using this, and I imagine some still are, should that be illegal also?

A player showed me they could operate multiple toons at the same time, copied the mouse movements and hotkeys they hit exactly, was kind of scary.
Would be awesome for a coordinated dance contest
but in pvp it would prolyl rip you to shreds :<

I'm not trying to get them shut down, I'm just wondering how legal it is. Because if bots are allowed, I'm going to set up my synch and xheal bots hybrid style.

I just want to make sure it's legal before I do it.

This reminds me of a time when I came across Sir Jar Jar Binks. Some noob was running around brit gy with a house rune and key so I killed him and recalled to the house. I run in the house and 5 archers all named Jar Jar Binks instant killed me. Man I couldn't even be mad I was laughing so hard, other people came to and he owned them all. I think he got banned tho cause I never saw him again after that. But yeah I mean that's the only time I have really seen the pvp bot thing. Yeah I don't know if it's illegal or not or if it should be or whatever. It's kind of a grey area I guess.

I love running multi. accounts .. great for macroing craft skills and still having a small part of a UO life. but I really don't think this is in the "idea" of UO. groups, gank squads love ya .. but really player zombies in pvp...

my explotation of the rules on this matter is for kicks. i think it should be illegal. I played on hybrid when Krrios would run his 8 Alias bots that perfectly synched explode pot dumps and crosshealed each other. was literally a one man faction. he could fight entire guilds and win. after it was bannable to do it using scripts (krrios client) he did it with razor just to show that he could. it's not quite as potent as a scripted bot, but razor can easily manage synchs and xheals. along with other lame tactics like para chaining with 3 guys and scroll casted FS spam.

there is another guild already using pvp bots to househide and escape from enemies on this server. and they've been getting away with it for awhile. i'm going to do the same thing in a sense, just 1 upping the sh*t out of it.
