I did studded gorgets/gloves at that level. It was very quick and relatively inexpensive.

I can't find studded items on the tailoring menu. I'm past 72 real skill, and I don't see it anywhere.

Has anyone come up with a revised & efficient way of GM'ing tailoring? What are people doing in place of the defunct oil cloths? The OP was claiming you couldn't do studded items at that same level. Was there an oversight somewhere, possibly?
Tailoring
0-30 Buy from a NPC Tailor
30-50 Make Facny Shirts
50-71.1 Make Robes
71.1-99.6 ???????
99.6-GM Make Leather Gorgets
Any help would be most appreciated!

Keep making cloaks and robes until you get into the 60's.
The gorget thing is about saving leather, but skill gain is slow in the 80s and 90s. There's another faster way that even turns a tidy profit.
Try to make a variety of leather items in your skill range to sell to the tanner. (according to the wiki tailoring chart) Use that money to buy out hides from the Fur Trader.
The Fur Trader will get new hides once an hour like clockwork. You may need to buy them out the first few hours to get the number of hides doubling... 20,40,80,160,320,640.. then 999 every hour.
I found alternating between Minoc Tanner and Brit Tanner the most convenient on account of their proximity to the bank.
Certain items turn a higher profit based on the amount of hides used. Shorts come to mind. You need to make a variety of items otherwise the tanners buying price drops too low. You can fit an unbelievable amount of that crap in your pack though and recall off to other tanners, like Yew/Buc's Den/Trinsic/Occlo.
