I have been Asked to make this Subject a Poll,

I honestly believe that Boat Blockades should Not be Allowed

I understand that at current it is just a couple of Mining Coves, but where will this end?
What will be Blockaded Next?

I don't put much faith in polls on here due to the fact that only a small percentage of the Shard even come to the forums. but here it is!!

May I suggest adding the pictures from the original discussion so there's a definite understanding of what we're talking about.

If we could do it on OSI we should be able to do it here.

That's the thing. While it was possible, it was heavily policed. In the original inception of the game, players could use housing and boats to cordone off entire areas of the game. Subsequent changes to housing eliminated the associated problems, however boats remained problematic, resulting in policy/policing being the solution.

As someone pointed out in another thread, there was even a sign posted on the mountain.

The principle of what this thread represents is basically the destruction of what makes Ultima Online so wonderful in the first place. This is Ultima Online, not Darkwing Duck Online.

I think there should definitely be some evidence to back this up in either way, I'm positive there are situations very similar to this one that happened on OSI and are documented.

For once can we get something valuable to the discussion instead of attacking the others posting or simply say it's Trammel. Otherwise, you bring nothing to the topic and should probably stay out of it.

SJane has tried one avenue to see what info she could get. I'll start looking later to see if I can find anything.

One person posted about the sign (which I remember also) that was posted in game regarding this sort of thing, is there a way to confirm this sign was there?

hey sweet find

Here's a funny but not so helpful quote:

Code: Select all

If I want to role play a
pirate, get a fleet of ships, blockade the exit to the Occlo harbor and
fireball anyone who gets close, will they stop me? will the code the
game so i can't do that? I doubt it. Origin wants to fix logic issues
with notoriety so that your notoriety fits how you play. It's that
simple.
