Spell Casting Animation and night sight

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

When on foot did mages have the same animation for every spell?
Or was there one where they did the arms ina circle liek the Y in the ymca type thing.

Also on dungeon crawls when im night sighting the newer players
They all dont ask for a nightsight at the same time
I recall on osi everyone hunting in teh same room all cast night sight at the same time?
It may be working here but the guys arent asking for nightsites right away

i did a quick search and didnt find anything mentioning it sorry if they are repeats

i remember the nightsight happening at the same time as well.

and i think the "Y" animation was strictly for summon spells.

The description for NS potion on various alchemy guides states that it lasts until the next day. Could it be that at some point NS on OSI switched from being based on the day cycle to a timer?

maybe all the NS wore off when the new day started, this could also be a reason why everyone did it at the same time. spell or potion. i have my light filtered through razor, and i would assume most others do aswell.

What you said about nightsight is exactly right. If you cast it at the wrong time, it could literally last only a few seconds, since it was based on day cycles. As for casting animation, I believe all spells had the same animation during t2a. I don't ever remember seeing that "Y" animation until I started here.

The other spell animation was removed shortly after I joined this shard, pretty sure they are from UO:R.

Night sight should give light only for one day cycle

Window washing definitely was the stupidest change they ever made towards spell casting after the UOR era... That awful casting animation definitely isn't accurate at all. Quite annoying seeing this used on past Pre:UOR shards in the last ten years of playing them.

Honestly even after UOR came out, I don't remember the "Y" animation. The first time I recall seeing it was on a free server (maybe IPY, can't really remember)

I remember it on OSI servers. I actually thought it was kinda cool the first time I saw it.

I never saw the Y animation on OSI, however it was used for summons on sphereserver shards (which were by default very similar to pre-t2a OSI)
