Well I just noticed checks don't exist here. Or maybe they are created differently.
How do larger trades transpire? If I buy something for 150k from another player how would I pay for it?

you can use player vendors.
if you are selling something like property, you can look up a player to act like a broker.
read the forums to protect yourself.

Yeah player vendors are the way to go. But yeah if it is something you cannot put on a vendor like a bet or a trade for a house, you will need a respectable reknown broker to be a middleman for the deal.
I recommend Guardian Knight I have done many big deals through him, and I have never heard him ask for a tip either but I always throw him some gold anyways.

I will do free brokering under my own condition .. that is .. that I'm online and not busy .. if you see me around feel free to ask me .. other then that there are many people if you search broker on the forums that are upstanding and trust worthy.

Also, I use house deeds for large purchases sometimes. They're basically checks.

I also act as a broker sometimes. PM me here on the forums or in IRC and we'll work something out.
