The tactics tables that I've looked at all make comparisons of a tactics value no higher than 100. I was wondering if it continues to increse/decrease damage inflicted/recieved as it scales over 100.
Does it maintain the same ratio of damage for values over 100 or are there diminishing returns or is 100 tactics the cap for applicable damage tables?
I'm sure its one of those obvious answers, but I am obviously not knowing it. ':-)
Thanks

Excactly,
I'm just wondering if i can get 90 tact and just pack around a +10 tact weapon to defend against increased damage based on tactics
or
do I need 100 base tact plus weapon bonus to defend against someone with a vanq weapon, or a any mob for that matter with tactics over 100 base ( if they can, i know some mobs have over 100 in any stat, not sure about skills )

No. You need GM tactics or else you won't get the full bonus. It's a necessity in every weapon you use. Once you have 100 tactics, anything more is just a bonus and that much better.

Tactics doesn't "defend" against anything. It's all about offense.Artulk wrote:Excactly,

90 Tactics skill with a +10 weapon is the exact same as 100 Tactics and a +0 weapon.
Note that accuracy-modded bows add to Archery skill, not Tactics.
Tactics skill over 100 scales the same way as it did to 100. I calculate damage bonus as (.5 + Tactics/100). Multiply that times your damage and you'll get the correct idea of what Tactics is doing to help you out.
105 Tactics = 155% of damage
110 Tactics = 160% of damage
115 Tactics = 165% of damage
120 Tactics = 170% of damage
125 Tactics = 175% of damage
Re: tactic > 100
OK first off, thanks for feedback/info
I was under the misunderstanding of how tactics worked. For some reason I had it in my head that tactics bonus damage came from the difference between your tactics and that of your attacker. For example, if I had 0 tact and my attacker had 100 I would recieve 150% of base damage and only deal out 50% myself, and if I had 90 tactics and my opponent had 100 then I would recieve 105% and dish out 95%. I don't know why I thought of it like that. I apparently misread something in the past. Funny, since tactics is a simple bonus to damage base on a 1 to 1 ratio. How could I have misread that? well its a been a long time since I've read that so.. *shrug*
