Auction ends in 8 hours, or 12 hours after the last bid if more bids are made.

Don't know which one of Barry's bids are the right one, so just in case, 245k.

If barryc4 hadn't rebid over himself, this auction would've ended a few minutes later. Shea, you bid ~30 minutes too late. But because barryc4 "rebid" over himself I'm guessing it caused some confusion. So I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do here, either keep the auction going for now, or close it with barryc4 the winner of the maps.

edit:
barryc4, you cannot change your bid at the last second of the auction and then win the auction instantly. There are people who could claim they WOULD'VE bid had they seen your bid was 225k and not 240k for all those hours. It's unfair to everyone else. The only reason people didn't outbid you in the past 24 hours could be because they saw you bid 240k and not only 225k. Now, I would be fine with you retracting your bid and putting in a lower bid, this would cause the auction to go on for another 12 hours.

So, if you are changing your bid, in order for it to be fair, the auction has to go for another 12 hours so everyone has a chance to see that you've changed your bid.

The reason I have auctions end a specified amount of time after the last bid is so everyone has a chance to see the final bid before the auction ends. It kind of defeats the purpose if you could change your bid at the last second and still win the auction.

barryc4 changed his bid, so the top bid before you posted was 230k from Shea. I take it you were under the impression that the top bid was 245k, but here's what the bids look like now:
barryc4 - 225k
Shea - 230k (I figured the 245k bid was on the condition that barryc4's bid was 240k, which it no longer is.)
Teph - 250k

Sorry for all the confusion guys. The auction will end 12 hours after the last bid was placed or changed.

the bid was 240k i just didnt see the 2nd page. the auction was over at 2:45pm not 3:17 when shea bid again. IF no one else would have bid you wouldnt have taken the 225k so wtf you prolong the auction for?

The auction would have been over at 2:45pm, but you changed your bid to 225k at 2:42pm. The ENTIRE reason I have the auction end 12 hours after the last bid is so people get to see the final bid. You changed your bid at the last second and expected the auction to end right then and there without people getting a chance to see your new changed bid. It's unfair to everyone else.

If you hadn't changed your bid, none of this would've happened. You would've won the auction. But because you did, this created a huge mess for me. I say again, the whole reason to have an auction end a specific amount of time after the last bid, is so everyone has a chance to see the final bid. You CHANGED your bid and expected the auction to end 2 minutes after, so effectively no one could see your new bid.

If someone bid 100k on an item, and then once the 12 hours were almost up and the auction was about to end, he changed his bid to 25k at the last second and won the auction, how would that be fair? Presumably, nobody outbid him originally because nobody wanted to pay more than 100k, but would they have paid 30k or more? Probably, but no one got to see what his bid was actually going to be.

edit: Maybe you should just read my posts above and try to understand why your bid added 12 hours onto the auction after you changed it.

These other guys deserved a chance to see what your bid was ACTUALLY going to be. Don't try to cheat the system next time.
