Catalina/Venette/Madaeline/Bigoud in IRC.

It was prob my fault for mis-understanding the house transfer, but as soon as I got what I want in the trade window I went to transfer the house and click on the char and before I did she closed the trade window and the house was transfered that fast and she recalled.

I didnt know it worked liked that.. and now she wont asnwer me in IRC.

Lost 45k, not going to kill me just thought I give a heads up on things that are going on.

Dagon - Maybe I should add you with that attitude? I edited the message. Cata/Vanette is who I spoke with in IRC Madalien/Bigoud is actually who showed up, I found out afterwards.

Sorry for your loss dude but it was clearly not me.

I am used sometimes as a broker on the shard because I am trustful. If the Bigoud is not for T-B guild, then its not me...

sorry.

Just an FYI, It's almost 100% certain that it was Felix/Roger/Faust trying to scam you in IRC, as I am "Cata|Vanette" and I really have no knowledge of you, or any trades. Anyone who uses IRC knows I don't buy and or sell things.

So I'd like it if you'd remove my name, as well as Bigouds because I know he wouldn't be scamming you. Were the characters in any guild?

This is tricky.

While I know it sucks to have your name soiled by scammer, there's a point to be made that the dude still lost his stuff due to characters with that name. Sure, IRC names can be used by anybody, so we shouldn't really list them as someone to look out for in IRC.

But in-game? It's still a name of a character running around scamming, so look out for and be weary of them.

As I said, were the characters in a guild? Both Bigoud and myself are in T-B. It's almost obvious that this was done by Felix, as he has a distate for both myself, and Bigoud. I can assure you, and if you'd like, Derrick might possibly be able to check logs/IP's, if you ask him and he's not busy & is capable of doing so, that it was neither of us who scammed you, or had any part in doing so.

If your doing any deal ensure the in game character is legit first.
Guild tags are the absolute best way to check. The scammer simply cannot make a duplicate guild abbrev.
Example, any player can make a character named 'Wise' but no scammer can make a 'Wise' with a $$$ guild abbrev.
Be aware

It's unfortunate that you were scammed scraper-pac but I will vouch for cata|vanette and Bigoud for both being honest players, as they are both guildies of mine. I'm sure as stated before that it was someone impersonating their names with IRC. I don't know who, but when in doubt just blame felix/son.

If the trade is for something you can't afford to lose, use one of the trusted brokers. Verify their identity by multiple means such as PMing on boards, checking guild tags etc.
