Loosing Player Base Due to Constant Changes?

Does anyone feel like we are falling into the trap of how OSI originally self destructed? It seems there are constantly new patches changing the way things are. I feel like people are becoming frustrated and quitting the server because of the changes that have taken place. I think the players demand consistancy and can rely on no significant changes taking place.
Any opinions?

We hit a 6 month client peak last Wednesday night of 605, our all time record client count is 614 set in March. It doesn't seem like we're losing players to me.
I understand the desire for stability, but the effort being put in to match OSI systems such as the upcoming Path 117 fatigue changes aren't done for the benefit of destroying the shard I assure you. We're making some pretty substantial mechanics fixes which are completely necessary in fulfilling our mission statement as summarized on our web site.

It should be pretty simple.
This is a shard that aims to replicate T2A.
Until T2A era accuracy is achieved, one should expect 'changes'.
That frequency of change is difficult to determine but with every change we are coming closer to T2A.

Think of it as a bell curve graph. Changes start slow, but accelerate and reach a peak, then as we near accuracy the changes will be less until we reach the bottom.

Summer is over, which ussually causes a drop in player activity. I do hope we can get past this 500 client average I've been seeing for the past few months. Weird how we just seem to stick around the same number for so long. What would be something we could do besides voting that would bring more people here?

Aye, I agree. Everytime we have a big patch like this though I think "this is the big one, we won't see any more major changes from here out". But then we discover some crazy new OSI code or system. This upcoming patch though effects gameplay minimally though compared to some of the other patches we've seen. I do think we're well past the peak of the bell curve.
I know I seem to just be talking about the upcoming patch, but am really kind of unclear on chat changes the original post was about.
We have kind of been trapped in the 500's for a while. I was very pleased to cross 600 on Wed.

well atm uosa appeals to everyone but the pvpers, sort the current system and I'd expect to see 750 peaks.

The current system is not optimal for 1V1LEETLOLOMGWTFURGAYPVPLOLYMATRONSTEALOURKEEP. It's a shame, really.

This sounds scary and are these upcoming changes already published somewhere? I'd just hate to work all night and some day next week log on at 8AM EST and get killed while killing stuff because of fatigue. Yes...I know that when you log on there is some type of mention about a new patch but a lot of times it's important to just log. Fatigue changes scare me and have you wondering about food and all sorts of other things.

Funny you should ask..........I started playing UO a couple of months before publish 16. Lost a lot of my friends in game when it came out. I stuck with it for years. Only stopped due to RL getting in the way. Every one of these changes seems to make the game more foriegn to me. I used to really enjoy t-hunting. Don't really care for the map changes. I believe you when you say it's "era accurate." I think I'm coming to the realization that I don't like the way it was. I wish you all the best.
