Checking House Placement

I read recently that housing can no longer be placed during Server Wars.
How else can I test some spots for placement I've been eying?
Say, I need to sell my 7x7 house to have enough money to afford a 14x14 house deed, which I'd like to try placing. Or, theoretically, if I think I've found a castle spot but I'm not sure, how can I test it if I don't have enough cash? Is there some function on test center that would allow me to test this? I'm a little unfamiliar with the commands on there.

Just log on test center, buy some deeds and run to the spot you want to "test". You have about a million in gold in your bank.

He might have mis-read that housing couldn't be placed within the 15 second server save message. I'll be asleep during server wars so I can't test it....

I've placed houses during server wars.
In fact I dropped a house and had all my mad loots all over the ground to place it elsewhere!

AHHHH OK, thank you. I just tested and I definitely misread this.

House placement isn't 100% guaranteed to fit on live if it works on test. I had to move my tower over two tiles to get it to fit where it currently is, but on test it was shifted over.

The map statics aren't exactly the same as they are on live...

The map statics on Test were reverted a couple days ago to match live, this shouldn't be a problem anywore.
