chum's right.. someone with the power needs to make the decision..

ScoobyDoo your wrong on half of what you said.. that bold post comment is the reason many don't want PlayUO.. "to a certain point on razor"-- and what is this "certain point" ?
Because i sure as hell can't cut corners using razor.. not to any point/degree..
ANY difference between the two seems grounds enough for me to make one illegal: which is the point i think Luminarie is saying
As I said any advantage over the other is unfair..

BTW:
There is no way to fully automize PVP using only razor.. at all - period
-AND-
It is impossible to make Razor utilize TWO clients for an authentic sync drop..

I'm getting the feeling your getting the two confused ScoobyDoo- you can only script things which you can do ingame in Razor.. and only run ONE script at a time..
*Neither of which are true for PlayUO plug-ins

Acually your wrong. 100% you can script pvp to fight for you. I'v done it. To find out more check out divinity. :) I know tons of people that script pvp, just seems your unsure how its done making it seem, that its not possible. Yes sir.. it is and the creator of it will tell you. Zippy is his name, ask em, how do you tell someone that made it there wrong ? He's having a huge issue on divinity where a guild were using scripts to synch to the millisecond on. Everytime. In the real world, thats impossible. They had scrips to "chug pots" for them when they hit a certain HP. All they had to do is, well, hit a button.

-edit-

I got banned for 30 days on uogamers for pulling up 4 clients and synching people for things in trade. What i would do is time them all to when i open up a gate, i would go to each razor and time them by almost a second from how long it takes for me to double click the razor icon in the corner and hit a botton, so it would sorta look like this. Client one- 3400 milliseconds, Start Synch. Client two- 2900 milliseconds, Start Synch. Client Three-2400 milliseconds, Start Synch Client Four- 1900 milliseconds, Start Synch. It's very much possible. Again, iv done it.

chug pots at certain hp and making a bandage self macro on razor compared to cutting corners and automating pvp on PlayUO.. REALLY? thats your argument? i mean c'mon man, really?

I'm straight up calling you out ScoobyDoo. Write me a script to automate pvp in razor and i'll stop my bitching about PlayUO. What? a chug potion macro lol c'mon

After much debate, we'll uphold our original design goal on Second Age and forbid PlayUO on the shard. I love the idea of a modern client, and even the idea of a (New) Modern UO, but this is and era server and with that comes era bugs, glitches and crashes. Pur preferred client, available from our download page as a torrent file, is at best, buggy and unstable. Because this shard is generally populated by nostalgists, the use of PlayUO drastically changes the playing field if only for no other reason that it doesn't crash as much, but because PlayUO is fully extensible, unlike Razor, there is no limit to what could potentially be done with it.

The approved 3rd party utils that may be used in game are Razor and UOAM.
There is of course no restriction on Utilities that are used to connect to the shard such as ConnectUO and UOGateway, and no restrictions on non game utilities such as any IM application be it text or voice.

Just wondering. I'v noticed almost 90% of the people i talk to from old school UO are from there before it shut down in 04. It was probley the best server in my opinion. On average they had 1500+ online. I think the most they carried out with was like 3400 or somethin crazy. Dont take my word for it, this is just on my faded memory. Oh and what made me ask you was your guild. There was one with the same name on there.

And how do you plan to enforce this decision? Block 4.0.8b?

Haha too bad that average dropped to the sad pile of bitter, steamy, festering GROGAN it turned out to be.

3400 my ass, and I played on there for the entire duration.

Ok. The server didn't die out because of population thou. The owner quit because of players like you. On holidays and such it would reach peeks of 3000+ plus, the average was 1500+.

I think if anything the owner quit because he had gained the attention of Raph Koster (T2A designer), which led him to become and over ambitious piece of "work". In turn he led himself to believe that he had hit the big time and would soon be welcomed into a game design company.

Unfortunately, all there is to show for this now is a washed out, cynical little man.

As for players like me- ah yes, the ones who (a) didn't cheat (b) provided some sort of challenge for the shards inhabitant. Criminal!

P.S - it is common knowledge that these "peak" population measurements were fabricated and exagerated on the server side.
