A player's opportunity costs are really their own decision.. I have saved up for a few unique items and multiple blessed masks without buying any points.
To say no one can save up points by being active for high end items is not accurate. They are completely in reach. I have also turned in points for the lower value items also. I thought they were worth the points and they were obtainable for free just by playing.
Judging by a few of your posts relating to daemon bone, your point is daemon bone should be removed from the list? because no one will ever turn it in for it? or that it should cost 3 points for a full suit because that is the going market rate?

Yes active players with alot of time can and do get the points needed and dont need to buy the points if they dont want to. I am talking about the people who only get to do one or two event a day or less that know they will never be able to save up enough points to get the good stuff these people dont have a much of a reason to save at all because they can just sell the points and buy those lower rares with a tenth of the points it takes to claim them. Not just deamon armor although that might be the worst one on there but most of the reward items are that way. I guess I look at it like this I am on the game alot and I get alot more points than most and I know my points are going to go to something extreamly rare and will be well worth the points I paid for them. These people that dont have the time to play like I do dont get to have that same chance at getting an item that is well worth their points that they paid for it unless they sell their points. Which I have no problem with if thats what they want to do but why not give them the chance to get an awesome gift for 50 points or 75 points. If you think about it at 2 events a day if you win all of them its still 50 for 50 points Unless you are great at pvp and do the 1v1 2v2 and 3v3 or have a bard and your good at that which probably 70% of this shard is not.

If someone is not an active player and does want to put in the time to earn a prize, why are they owed one? These prizes should be a reward for activity. If you do want to buy your trophies and be an active player on the server in a different way the option is still there. If you want one of the lower prizes that you can just acquire with gold, what is the problem? Trying to constantly adjust and keep even the spawn rate of rares/trophy prizes to the current gold level cost of trophies/items isnt feasible.
Also remember that 95% of the items on the trophy turn in list are available in game/have been/will be available again in game.

. We are not kids anymore with all day to play games. Most people have jobs and kids and other things that keep them from playing this game. So its not that they wouldnt be more active but more that they cant be more active. I feel that people should never be rewarded just because they dont have rl things to do and can play on the comp all day. I am one of those people that can play all day right now but I have had a job and I worked 60 to 80hrs a week and still got on to play for awhile everyday which takes alot more effort than people doing nothing all day and I do believe I earned a reward more then than I do now. So why should they be punished because they have rl stuff that keeps them from making all these events or even a few of them. You can say that these people still have a chance to get these points but when the big points are earned during the early morning most people dont have a chance at them so all they realy have a chance at are the events that give out silver. So most of these people wont make alot of points very quick. These 50 and 75 point awards that are being handed out had alot more value to them when they started doing this but all the items are not near as rare anymore and so therefore not worth the points paid to get them anymore.

For people who cant be active to earn prizes they give out pretty awesome items during holidays. Even inactive people can spend the few minutes it takes to get those.

I only work a few hours per week, because I have UO stuff that takes up a lot of my time, 60-80 hours per week. I won't ever have a chance to work as much as him because I have UO stuff in the way. He can buy a car like 10 times quicker than me, because he makes more money. Is this fair? I don't think so.

Where is the logic in this responce? People choose to play this game so how does that even compair to someone who has to work to live? There is no choice in that.

It's the argument that reward should only come with time or effort invested regardless of it being a real life scenario or a video game. I agree, players aren't entitled to rewards simply because others have them, instead, they have the same option to earn those rewards.
But there's another topic already about events and trophy points, let's leave the whining about how much daemon arms cost out of this, it has nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

Agreed rewards should come with time and all that but you should not get screwed just becase you cant get 500 points. The value of the item one gets for 50 points should be worth 50 points. These items should have value to them regaurdless to how long or much you have played. The 50 and 75 point rewards are crap so I hope they fix this.
I have already pointed out that this was for the other thread!!!
