How bout, bring arena pvp back and just learn to get gud or go back to crafting wooden thrones and dragon farming. I mean not a single respectable pvper on this shard is against event pvp, but every trammite that cannot pvp jumps on every thread to abolish the system. I mean its just weak, a ton of really weak players who dont want to get good at era accurate pvp mechanics. They take events out permanently, this shard would lose 35% of its long term gamers who are on more often then not.
Because Beatingu said so.

Someone's never been to a USSR style breadline.
Now, I personally have no complaints about the administration or the product they voluntarily provide. However, just because something is free...doesn't necessarily mean that it's good. And, unlike the USSR, there is a bit of healthy competition among free UO shards. So it's always wise to heed the collective voice of your constituents.

We've already had this debate. As of now, our policy has not changed. Please restrict the "I hate events and think they should be ended" to a single thread.
beatingu this statement works bothways lol
back on topic this idea is terrible!

The fact that this is not how it works here is why imo this is the best shard of all.

Someone doesn't know the definition of the word heed.
The entire point of my post was that Mikel shouldn't be so quick to stifle creative and constructive discussion with judgmental quips about ungratefulness. I never suggested that this was a good idea, or that staff should implement things based on majority rule or the loud minority.

Oh wow thanks! I had to google 'heed' and now that I know what it means I stand by my statement. Good thing I lucked out when I guessed.

Let me get this straight, people who do not want risk-free events in a grief-proof environment in favor of more action out in the field are "trammite"?

'ERA accuracy' really has no place in the discussion. Why you ask? Because you just make it an event.
Introduce it in some kind of ongoing RP format and then you can drop silver all you want on anything whenever.
Would just be like a town invasion but on a larger scale.
Lord British's treasury has been looted by the underbelly of Britannia!
The criminals have distributed the coins among themselves!
Go reclaim the treasury!
The end.
You could also skip the 'silver' part and just have items drop randomly.
Lord British's castle was looted! All of his belongings have been stolen by monsters et.. Go reclaim them.
Try it for a month and see what happens.
It makes all the 'risk vs reward' event people happy, and makes all the non PVPer players who want events happy.

This seems like a great idea. I'd be down with this silver drop if it had a specific end date. I think the idea of a 'permanent event' is a slippery slope.

BF, that was the obvious answer. I mentioned to telamon a few days ago that it is no different than if they pretended it was one of the Gm events.
It feels more like a line that they just don't want to cross. I'm being careful now because I have already had to apologize for being an arse in this thread.

hey guys im not a name player , or the best of the best. i have been on this shard a little over a year and still have fun. i would like to see some idea like telamons implemented. i dont know anything about era accuracy or crap like that. but i realized that the old event silver was pretty much controlled by just a few people in all the shard. there is no reason that a few people on the shard should dominate all areas. not everyone should have to make a tamer and farm and farm for ever to obtain cool silver reward items.
its totally ridiculous that the only way you can obtain silver is from events. in the year i have been here i have only been in maybe 4 or 5 world events that rewarded silver statues and honestly i just dont find the pvp related instanced trammel tournaments that fun. also not everyone is able to give up all their real life just so they can make sure they get to that tournament 3 times per day.
what telamon wants to introduce seems like the BEST way to spread silver around the shard. people old and new will be out doing pve all across the world everyone from the lowest noob to the oldest tamers and bards will be able to farm and have an equal chance at silvers. instead of just people who sit in their homes and log in for tournaments.
i really think the whole thing is people want silver rewards to be RARE and i can understand that we dont want everyone running around with neon hues and everyones home has bear rugs. the fact that unique rewards exist is what makes them so valuable and enjoyable to obtain. so the issue is really what would the drop rate be so that it doesnt drastically change the economy of the server.
tldr sorry for wall of text . ya implement this change

What's that? The third, or fourth time you've made your stance clear?
If you bring nothing to the table, why do you still sit here?
Anyway, moving on....
I like Pirul's idea of it being semi-GM event like, where there's a bit of an RP story behind it and it only being for a period of time. It would be akin to the Double-XP they have on CoD sometimes, where the player base goes through the roof because the potential for greater gains is limited.
But yes Lelouche, we all understand your opinion on the matter now, so please, save yourself the trouble of repeating it for a fifth or sixth time.
