Why does there need to be discussion IN someone's thread?

If you want to discuss a particular item, lets take the hot topic in trade right now (hair dyes), then make a separate thread somewhere and talk about it. Don't spam up the seller's thread with your memories of what derrick implemented over a year ago...

there is also the traders discussion forum made specifically for discussions such as the origins of items.

So is discussion reportable and removable?

Still there is gonna be some newb or rebel who just insists on posting in the main thread, and it shouldn't be the moderators job to police these kinds of posts.

Locking trade threads would force you to take discussion elsewhere. In addition it would sort out flakes since it is now more effort to bid.

I think we should at least create a new experimental sub-forum in the trade section that follows the locked thread model to see if it helps. That way nobody loses the style of the old forum but have the option to post in style of locked, no discussions sales. From there we can see how it impacts the trade forum.

To be honest Checkmate I would rather give the current system a chance to continue, because it's great when it's allowed to work properly.

I know. However, as evidence by multiple threads discussions on pricing, location, etc. occur inside of trade threads. If this discussion occurs is that discussion reportable and removable?

If you're asking my interpretation then I'll give it:

There's a trade forum discussion section and a trade forum sale section broken down into multiple parts for organization purpose.

If you want to talk about a sale, do so in trade discussion. If you want to buy or sell or trade something, do so in the trade sale section in one of the sub forums. Not hard.

You still haven't really answered my question. We can acknowledge there is a trade discussion section and a section where you post for buy/sell. I think we can both also acknowledge that in the buy/sell section there is occasionally discussion related to the item up for sale. Is the discussion occurring inside of a buy/sell thread removable and reportable?

Assume report/remove request comes from the original thread poster.

Is the discussion occurring inside of a buy/sell thread removable and reportable?

Why is this occurring at all?

It occurs, you have participated in discussions inside of buy/sell threads. So really the question is not why they occur, the question is whether or not the discussions are removable.

now the last ones that love to discuss in other peoples selling threads can see how wrong they are and how pathetic their behaviour is.

Blackfoot has officially won this thread. Permaban now!

It shouldn't be occurring as stated before.

So, if it shouldn't be occurring why did you participate?

Additionally, if it does occur is it removable and reportable? < this is a yes/no question.
