Join the Farmer strike.
Re: Join the Farmer strike.
Dungeons would get pretty empty when I was solo pking just based on my own actions. 1 person, non-mage, hitting hot spots. I imagine they will get really bad with mYm doing their thing with their combined guild effort looking for targets and then engaging them with an almost unescapable and unbeatable force. And the mYm guys are always online, and unlike TG, who pked during off peak hours, mYm plays basically all hours and mostly peak. Bad for business maybe.
It's none of my concern, but in the end, it is bad for the shard if noone can EVER farm. They'll just get tired of losing and take breaks, to the point that we're not gaining players, but remaining at a stagnant 500.
Any change to their actions (mYm) will be wrought of their own decision is what I would speculate. Noone is going to stop them from pking like this, with exception to +- I don't think there is a guild on the shard that could if they tried. And It is wishful thinking on their part to think they will somehow revive the pvp scene by pking the non-pvp population. This game is 10 years old, the people playing it, are doing what they want. You can't force a gameplay change on them.... Well maybe you can, but eventually it will wear thin.

Re: Join the Farmer strike.
You guys are retarded if you think pking will stop farmers.
Stat is a huge time sink, and EVERYONE dies. Top quality pvpers think they are hawt shit and end up dying 40 counts deep, then they are fucked (res vs time macro).
Bottom line, theres always a risk when you farm, but the reward far outweighs these risks, even if MYM is out pking in a fleet.

I have found that when a pk dies and goes into stat they just choose another from their stock of 10.son wrote:You guys are retarded if you think pking will stop farmers.

I macroed a hally mage in 7 days. Easy. Theoretically this means I could have three hally mages a week. Do the math. In one month I could have three accounts stocked with 4 hally mages a piece. I could care less about stat loss at that point.

With all the regs you get from ganking newbs in the dungeons, practically free. Not even going to count the gold.

Well we're gonna keep ganking and there's nothing you can do about it then ;D
I Just realized why people are so upset its not because we're pking its because unlike 99% of the shards pks we're highly successful we don't usually lose a kill.

Re: Join the Farmer strike.
I'm new to the shard, but I have a hot sports opinion about the chatter in this thread.
I wanted to highlight a quote from the OP:
I'll tell you this - I know for a fact I am going to die. I know for a fact I am going to get killed at an inopportune time and it is going to piss me off. I also know for a fact that I am going to call on some of my friends (either made in the game due to common goals or recruited from my real life friend pool) to come pick my ass up, restock, and find my attackers for payback.
This game and this era is provides you the unhindered ability to dole out consequences for someone's actions. Even if there is some blue prick talking trash or stealing your loot when you are farming air ele's (yay for lack of factions!) - You have the ability to enforce consequences. Grab your sack, your self help motivational tape, and go cut off some heads.
Whenever you have a community of people, you are going to have extremes at both ends of the spectrum (nice bell curve btw). This game allows you to shape the community through multiple methods, inclusive of brute force. A better approach to your perceived problems with the way your peers are playing the game might have been to organize some type of community action "IN" game to deal with your hardships. Coming to the forums and talking about farmers going on strike just reeks of carebearism.
Good luck with your issues. Hopefully you will find a successful method for dealing with them.
I wanted to highlight a quote from the OP:
Why are you worried about what is going on in IRC when you just got killed? Who cares what people are saying about you? Reputations are forged based on actions. Get your ass ressed, go get you a battle pack of whatever you need to be productive, and hunt them down. It would seem that someone well established / liked / respected on this server would have been able to make a few relationships with some individuals to call in and help you take out some trash. They then have free run of the IRC on the supposed civil channel to go on and on about how they rule you...suddenly when they "ruled you", you learn that most of the chat channel are exactly the same as those people and they jump in on the beating. So not only do they beat you in game, they attack your reputation and gather weak minded people to help them.

maybe you guys should band up against them? they are actually pretty bad i think

Re: Join the Farmer strike.
Well personally I like that pk's can show up at any time when im farming. It keeps me on my toes and is what makes it more of a fun situation than just a grind. Any game that you can farm without being player killed makes it just a boring grind that you get tired of. That being said there are alot more reds here than there was on retail, so some days it gets a little out of control. I see nothing wrong with ganking. Murderers traveled in packs back on production shards and I dont see why they shouldnt here. Its easier to get the kill and less risk of you facing stat loss. I still get away from groups like 95% of the time. I really only die if I just happened to start casting blade spirits or some other similiar event of bad timing takes place. I actually farm with my tank mage as I dont have a bard. So if I see a group of pks I just recall right off the bat. However just one pk and ill fight. If im really full on loot I might recall and bank first but then I come right back to fight. Sometimes to find out it was more than one in which case I will just recall again.
I really dislike the style of the red who scouts with his blue or ghost for easy opportunities then brings his red in. I think if you are gonna have a murderer you should play the character a bit more seriously than that. I am most likely going to go red with my tankmage soon but I will actually play him as a character and go out and hunt blues with him and not just bring him in to get cheap kills. Therefore you will have opportunities at least to kill my red. However I would still run around in a gank group as well.
As previously stated noto-pks and blues with just bad manners is the worst problem. For instance here is a dealing I had the other day in cyclops valley. I am eving/bsing some mobs down when a bard named mook from mhk shows up. He provokes something on a titan I have almost dead, beats me to the loot and runs off and recalls. I had to run out for a few and when I come back I find out he did the same thing to a friend of mine there who hadnt raised his eval up yet. So I say ok im gonna come out there and hunt with you and if we see him we are taking him down. So I see him and start attacking. My friend lags up and gets killed by mobs somehow. So he runs off from me and heals to full health. At this point its just me and him 1v1 and I kill him. Then he comes back with a friend. They kill my friend again who is still lagging. At this point its 2v1 on me so I just recall out. Then they show up at the bank and start in on me with "oh its not so fun with even numbers" da da da. So I tell him well you shouldnt have been out starting shit then. So then he is like you attacked me first. So I remind him that he started it by looting my mobs and he just laughs and opens a gate. Before him and his buddies go through I tell him bottom line is its me 1 you 0 and soon its going to be me 2 you 0. Sure enough yesterday I recalled out to cyclops valley and seen him out there so I immediatly went and attacked him and killed him again. So now just like I said its me 2 him 0. Bottom line is if you are the kinda blue that likes to loot my corpses or do anything foul while I am farming, I will not hesitate to kill your ass and take a count.
So I seen somebody refer to mhk as a real pk guild but by this guys actions I fail to see that. I forget their guild name but I like the guys that all have comedian names, George Carlin, Dennis Leary, Richard Pryor etc. Those guys just go out to hunting spots and whoop ass.
As far as griefing goes, imo theres nothing wrong with a little bit of it. Its just plain funny sometimes. Now while I would never advocate continually griefing somebody, but if you leave yourself open to something or keep coming back then its just what happens. A pk has every right to kill or gate off your tames. Like they are supposed to just leave them there for you to come back and get? Also if you carry a rune to inside your castle around with you, why wouldnt somebody try to loot your castle? That rune should have never been anywhere but in your bank box. Now somebody just finding out where you live and camping outside it everyday...thats excessive griefing. I do grief some with my thief but like I say only to a certain extent and its usually always because somebody left themselves totally open for something or they are angry that I stole from them and keep following me around talking smack. If you take proper precautions and dont do everything the lazy/easy way you can never really lose that much.

The problem is, on a 500 person shard the people you are going to kill them will probably be their alts on another account

Re: Join the Farmer strike.
There have been enough different people fed up with PK's posting in this thread to form a decent anti-PK group. Just have to stop talking about it and do it.

There is no anti-pk leadership. Thus why you see no organized anti- guilds..Arkosh Kovasz wrote:There have been enough different people fed up with PK's posting in this thread to form a decent anti-PK group. Just have to stop talking about it and do it.
