Exactly. In theory, a no macro server would be awesome. In practice though:
1) Like Nightshark said, most of us are adults now and have stupid jobs that take up all of our gaming time. When I was in high school I could choose not to do my homework and play UO nonstop with minor repercussions. Now, if I just chose to ignore my responsibilities, I'd probably be divorced, and I'd be fired and potentially lose my car, house, and RL l33t gear.
2) If the server was just starting, banning macroing would be great, because everyone would be on the same page. But since it's pretty established, like everyone's said, there's lots of 7x GMs running around out there. I started playing UO again for two reasons. A) because I love the game, and B) because my husband and I were looking for something fun to do together. It's absolutely NOT fun to get ganked every time you walk out of town. And in most cases, to GM some sort of fighting skill you WILL need to leave. Collin has never played UO, and if he is just experiencing the crappy dying part, I don't think he will want to stick with it. So in the interest of keeping us playing together, I will macro us both up enough so that we can at least defend ourselves. This DOESN'T mean we're going to sit around and macro up all 7 skills, it just means maybe 1 or 2.
I also miss the days of grinding away, and getting all excited when you went up to 60 Magery (from your starting 50). But I don't think we'd be able to emulate that and keep a player base, just because of the above reasons, and because it's been so long since ANY major shard (at least any I've heard of) have done it.
Just my $0.02

I agree with a lot of what is being said, since I've created the character that I put into this guild, I've been having a ton of fun. I only got pk'd once too so it's not all that bad.
To be honest I haven't played any of my 5-6-7-? characters since (except to refresh my house). I love the idea of playing the game the way it is supposed to be played and I'm sticking to it. If you're hesitating on doing it, don't. At least try it. The personal satisfaction is so worth it. Playing my 7x's is nowhere near as much fun. There are soooooo many places to go when you are not 7x...
I'm 30 and getting married in 2 weeks, working full time and taking university courses part time. I don't have much time to play but, who cares, I'm having fun while I'm online. That's all that matters.

seriously how often does this happen?
i have created my own non macro char,
atm i am resting around 90 swordsmanship. and have not been ganked once.
in fact i have only been surprized by one pk, who paralized a travelling noble npc, i take them with me as cannon fodder when i fight the orcs.
i have recently moved upto fighting magic creatures, yet i still cannot cure so i just buy lesser cures from npc's
just saying this is not something that should be concerned about.
as a new character there are plenty of places to gain in the wild while also avoiding pks.

I think this guy should make his pitch and see if he can get anyone to play ball with him... Or we could ban having 7xgm characters...cause most people didnt have them for most of t2a...or at least multiple 7xgm characters!
jk again.
wow hes got a point its accurate wipe all skills but taming witch you have to do by hand and let the skill working begin , i quit cause i pwnt the game in a month with a not even 1 time gm char that i macroed up in a few days.

they should of banned all 3rd party programs and kept 1 account per IP when they opened this shard. Its far too late now :/
What they could do, it create another server called UOSecondage - Hard. So people have a choice, imo it would be alot better and gain 2x as many Online players..

Totally agree, was just saying the other day if a server came along that was EXACTLY like this but with no ability to macro I would jump on that in a second!....by the sounds of it, so would everyone else. I'm in the same boat as most oldschool T2A players...early mid twenties, job, relationship and all that stuff...so really have like 2 hours a day to play and that is if there is nothing else going on. Having said that, when I first started here I wasnt macroing...getting to 60 magery was amazing..I could Mark!! I'd love that feeling again, so Derrick...I think you should set up T2A - Hard!
1 account per IP
No macro!
No Mercy!!

This being said, I feel like it would drastically hurt UOSA if there were 2 servers because of the population being split. The best route would definitely be a micro community. I've only been here for 3 weeks, and I've already made over 700k and have an *almost GM Carto / Lockpicker with GM magery provo music etc and a tank mage on the way with GM magery... but, when you are able to amass this kind of wealth with such little actual time into developing your CHARACTER, the game loses a lot of its luster. If I am going to continue on here for much longer it will most likely be on Evra. my new NMC toon. Please if you are interested get involved so that we can all be in gchat together etc.
See you guys in gchat.

SInce I dont use AIM or IRC or Ventrillo or anything, I still haven't found my way into the NMC GUild. If I could arrange to meet a member just to put my forward for sponsership, that would be great. Do we have some warriors for fungeon crawling..if so, if there is a skill you are missing, let me know and I'll make that guy

Use the in game chat command, alt-t. I've started using it last night. You could find me, then I could go try to find Pristiq
As per your character, play whatever you'd like to play.

I got a newbie warrior going right now, at some point it would be fun to have a goofy newbie mage running around with us but i gotta make some funds for regs first to give em.

I'll try the Alt and T but didn't work for me before

I think I'll go with a dexxer then, never played one before and be good to get some healing in there too, poison and healing dexxer, I'll create it than try and get hooked up! Anywhere where you guys are based so I can go looking (like Brit, Moonglow etc)
