Never seen so many bad attitudes directed at people who provide free things to them.

Hate to burst ur bubble mike, but i have nothing but love and respect for derrick... in my opinion he's the most important individual here (when looking at the grand scheme of things) good work derrick, love playing here, and thanks again for the opportunity that you have given me.

I'll second that Guerrilla.

What Guerrilla "failed to recognize" is that I was referring to Kaivan as well, who does a lot of things to help the shard as well, for free.

Did you take this idea from the Tokuno events on EA? I loved that event. It brought ppl back in the dungeons and where not (to farm or to kill for the loot). What I remember is that it didn't matter what you killed, but most ppl after a few days focussed on the low end creatures instead of the high end (because the % chance u had was as much by killing one rat as with one big creature).
The only cons I remember from the Tokuno event was:
- tamers obtained too easily tons of treasures
- many ppl semi-afk'd to get the treasures (grab a dragon put in a spot and check the corpses so now and then, or be a warrior place urself in the middle of low end spawn and auto attack)
- the price of the treasures went down pretty fast!

Depends on ur standpoint, kaivan negates most of what anybody says, off top, accurate or not, fact is there are things that are exclusive to UOSA that derrick has put before us. It's not up to kaivan wether or not things get implemented, sure he may be the "t2a guru" but that doesnt mean that he has to bash anybody's views.... which he does do alot. I'm sure others would agree.

I'm pretty sure Kaivan will point out the era inaccuracies for anything that is inaccurate. Guerrilla, you make it sound like hes taking sides to an argument, just for arguments sake. Looking at his post history, seems like he has always taken the exact same position; on the side of era accuracy.

But wouldn't the gms control the rate at which the silver spawned? In other words, if the above problems began to surface on uosa, make the chance to drop even lower the rates suggested in previous posts? At the drop rate suggested by Telamon, silver would be such a rare drop it would still be faster to farm for gold to buy silver from players.
I just dont' see all the huge influx of silver happening, which others are worried about. If that even starts trending, just make silver drop less.
Regardless, I think Telamon mentioned all of this in that he wants to match the drop rate to the point where the silver produced daily for the shard is roughly equal to that silver which previously came from events.

This change would make the shard less era accurate, so I vote no. If some newb comes here and is like 'sweet, a t2a experience', then kills a mongbat and sees a silver coin, he will probably go 'wtf?'
Since events are pardoned from the era-accurate rules, I think they should be the only way to obtain silver. Keep the era-inaccurate stuff grouped together, if that makes sense.

Lol lets be totally honest here. if some noob came here and hasnt played UO since T2A era. I doubt he remembers much of anything anyways. If silver is going to be the only way to retrieve era accurate items, it needs to be more obtainable by the masses.
I think you all need to understand, in a game with no end game, stuck in a situation with no advancement or additions, where many people have mastered aspects of the game, some other forms of entertainment are necessary.
In my view, since events have gone away, its been much harder to find PVP in the field. Especially in off peak hours.

Wait, so a noob killing a mongbat and finding a silver piece, is more inaccurate than a noob walking through a blue gate to green acres and witnessing blues and reds participating in risk free, no use, trammel, automated/scripted tournements with silver/trophy rewards?
Which one would he go WTF at again?

Probably both, but remember we are not talking about events being removed, we are talking about introducing random silver drops. Keep the era-inaccurate stuff all together. Silver/events should go together. Just my opinion.
