Re: Are you an OSI UO Veteran?
lol i was the exact opposite, my entire reason for playing the game was to murder people.Commodore Axavious wrote:I never grew to any great wealth - just ran around on the same dexer for years, getting into trouble. Never turned red. Never PKed anyone, at least not seriously, basically participating in some friend's PK scheme every now and again.
my first character was on napa, i went red about a month after i started playing. my skills were like 95 mining, 65 blacksmithy, 95 macing/tactics, 40 healing and basically vendor bought other skills. best pk ever.
after my character went red and died, i started up on Wakoku since my ping was lower there. my first semi-successful pvp character, within a month or so i had 90 magery, 60 meditation (i couldn't work out an EZMacro to raise it), 95+ swords/tactics and 75 or so wrestle. i eventually went pk on it, and died fairly quickly to a disconnect.
i played Izumo after that (it had just come up when I died), and hooked up with an australian PK guild (can't remember their names at all now). i learned the art of making cheap, throwaway, heavy offense characters which were good for group PKing - well, good for PKing on OSI

when oceania finally came up in jan 2000, I finally had the opportunity to play with a low ping. unfortunately trammel was released shortly after and I never got much of an opportunity to PK there before the fel/tram split. from 2000-2003 pretty much all i did was brit GY/moongate PvP, except for a very successful PK I made in late 2002. despite the fact it was made in UO:R, i had more fun playing that PK than I've ever had in UO since. running in a group (with 1 other person i knew irl), we topped the bounty board and survived constant ganks for months. eventually my friend ran into the guardzone by vesper (he was a complete spaz when it came to actual game knowledge, though he was good at pvp), and a week or so later I was killed by a client crash PKing solo.
oh yeah, i also played on siege with a 6x lumberjack, but that was another story. i only played there while oceania was down, for the most part.
I haven't really attempted to PK on UOSA and don't have much interest in it, 11 years will do that to you I guess.

Haha gimme a break I was like 12 years old then! I now have all the maturity and power of mental foresight that comes with being the proud owner of pubes. I willl no doubt not be such a burden on the community.

Do you remember that guy "A Monkey Man"? He got banned for saying "sup wigger". He got his account back though, after much ruckus. I really never understood the whole "I'm gonna call a GM and get you banned" thing. Ultimate griefing I guess.Lupos wrote:Status: SUSPENDED

Aha, is this the same "A Monkey Man" who bought OutRage's (from -E-) account when he quit and ended up getting that banned too?

Re: Are you an OSI UO Veteran?
Haha I remember him well, in fact him and I ended up sharing quite a few grieving ideas when trammel came in. We joined a bunch of guilds with disguises and beat up the lot of them. My favourite was when we created a a fake imitation of a guild called OrB we created called 0rB which looked identical. We stated we were recruiting at WBB, lured a ton of players into my tower, signed them up and killed them all.
The guy was a ridiculous stoner though and pretty unreliable at times.

Re: Are you an OSI UO Veteran?
I think ORB might have been the guild I infiltrated on my dexer-thief (would join up with a friend also on a dexer thief). I raised my karma to a decent level that didnt look suspicious, put a disguise kit on, rocked up at tram WBB and did my best roleplay act. I can speak in thees and thous like there's no tomorrow. They let me in repeatedly, with different disguises and different clothes. I would camp their guild house killing any incoming terrorists (read: guild members). Eventually I would get overwhelmed and they would manage to kick me out of the guild. Rinse, repeat.
They would call GM after GM, repeatedly being told what I was doing was completely fine.
In the end they made their joining requirement much more strict and I couldn't get in anymore

Hey haven't even logged into the game yet, but I'm downloading it now. I played under the same name on Chesapeake when it launched and on Siege Perilous for a while as well until game was ruined. Hoping I can find some of the same feeling here I did back then, though I don't know if it will ever be the same. Look forward to seeing you all in game.

You know, Pariah does sound like a really familiar Siege Perilous name.

You'll definitely re-live some of the magic here. I even got the shakes the first few times I got in fights here

Re: Are you an OSI UO Veteran?
Catskills 98'-2003
I brought my guild over from diablo 1 / star craft. we still have some original members which is amazing playing since like 96' with guys who were 13 at the time son's of other members.
TG was all sorts of guilds, anti pk, noto pk, chaos, pk, then faction shadow lords. Quit when AoS ruined the premise of uo's skill based system.
I was the first shadowlord commanding lord on catskills osi. that was pretty fun figuring out the pvp system and leading a bunch of people who were enemies the week before lol. we were as far as i know the only guild on the server who wared guilds within our own faction following a ballet stuffing incident lol

Chessy shard, start circa 1998 way before T2A. My characters are still there but I dont play. I stopped during the last expansion, I think, when you had the LRC and LMC suits, luck etc.
