I think having scheduled CUBs will cause the most rediculous hoarding you have ever seen in your lives. People mass producing with their crafters for months filling up houses, buying all random junk to 999 on npcs for months for the next CUB. The first CUB didnt have that warning, but if it did rest assured the hoarding would have been fantastic.
Solve the hoarding issue and the problems it would cause, then decide your timeline.
Agree. The key here is
INTENT. What was the intent of the CUB?
Yes, it was fun. Yes, cool items were given.
I wasn't around to participate it, and although I would
like to go through it, I know that it's for the greater good not to repeat it.
But the *INTENT* of CUB was to remove server clutter and excess items. Repeating the CUB would just make it worse, thus making the intent pointless. Simple as that.

I was a noob to the shard when the first one came out, so i missed out. It would be cool yes, but any sort of announcement about it would be a bad idea.
If they're gonna do it, they should definitely wait at least a year from the last one (hopefully longer), then put it in and announce it the same day.

Yes, you'd
think spacing the time between CUB events would help, but you'd be surprised at how many people would HORDE countless items if there even was a possibility of another one in the future.
Unfortunately, that's human nature for you. "Design a system, and there will be people who look to exploit that system by any means." You really have to be careful how you do things with MMOs.

I agree, as I already mentioned to Derrick, a good ideal to stop people from hoarding would be make it were cub barrels only accepted items crafted or farmed after cub was implemented, however, as Derrick pointed out that would take away from the intent of getting rid of old trash. But, I think the intent is more for everyone to have fun at such an event. So in that way it works, not to mention it would get rid of a crap load of old items from people who hoarded things realizing they rae now worthless and either throwing them away or vendoring them.

i did nothing but make fancy shirts for 2 weeks (was that how long it was?) and didn't play at all. that was one of the legit and fastest ways to farm tickets. i didn't want to spend money on it so i collected nothing but wool and cotton during that time also. no taming, no pvm. it sucked. i forgot about 10+ mares in my stable b/c i was just setting up my macro and leaving to run for 20+ hours to get as many tickets as possible.
i voted no. it will not increase interaction amongst players. in fact i remember the item count climbing higher each day.

The most ironic think about the CUB was that if every player had 15 castles worth of secures filled with junk to ticket, most player would get 1 decent item.
All of the big rewards came from crafting.
I went through 300k boards and gm'd a bower 100% AFk after setting up the macros for tickets.
I probably used another 50K hides and 20k inggots as well.
So add that all up... i probably dumped 900+150+120 = about 1.2 mil into the system. People who sold their neons for 30 where mostly losing money or using resources they farmed themselves....
A new CUB would lead to 1 of 2 things.
1. the only people with enough junk for multiple rewards would be those who specifically have been hoarding for a new CUB. Should those people be rewarded?
2. When everyone cleans their houses out and realizes how few tickets they have the mass crafting would begin again? Is that the intent?

1. i fit into this category. start 6+ months ago in case there would be another CUB. better to be safe than sorry. it will take MAYBE a couple hours to dump everyone of the bags into the trashcan. then let the crafting begin...
i dumped bags and bags of vanqs and powers and invul and fort armor and got jack crap for it. frustrated the hell outta me to find out that the most efficient way to get tickets was to farm fancy shirts...

Yeah all I did was mine in cove and make chainmail coifs. Would put them all in a pouch until I couldn't fit anymore then dropped the entire pouch in the barrel.

I say do another one.
CUB should be limited to items farmed, With magic properties.
Little to no value tickets given to items like boards, ingots, Wool, Hides ect, any player crafted items. or NPC bought garbage.
Simple.
Then you will see the item counts drop.
Thats all.

ROFL. I love it. All these people saying "Yeah, we abused the HELL out of the system! We totally raped it. We DEFINITELY shouldn't have another one because it will just happen again!" Would it be that hard to put a stipulation on items being put into the barrel cannot be items crafted or purchased fter the barrel was placed?
I want there to be an official "we will not be having another one" so anyone hoarding stuff in houses can just smelt it or something.
