I just wanted to play UO again and searched on gamesite200 for any decent server with no easy skill gain and T2A type of server.

i saw it on connectuo with 5 players labeled Pre-UO:R and i was like hey i bet the insta hit is wrong and i logged in and sure enough it was

and now its at 159 average and is at LEAST 86% accurate as oppose to divinity which is probably about 20%

I have put such little time into my character so far I'm not even far enough along to test this stuff, but can say that I came here after being thoroughly disappointed with Divinity. They are striving to be IPY II not a t2a shard, and their staff is petty, immature assholes who think the players should be praising them all day and when someone posts an issue on the forums usually the first response is a nice stfu from them. Worst staff I've ever encountered, and from what I've posted/read here I can say at least that aspect is way better here.

Nothing really caught my eye and just before i went back to work i saw a UO forum.

Had to check it out. Read a ton of posts about people saying how bad uo sucks now and begging for a "classic server", in one of the posts someone suggested the only way to play a classic server was on a free shard.

Do any of you guys think there could ever be a chance of a real classic shard sponsored by Origin? That would be the only way imo to get a population like a real shard and to truly recreate the experience. I think they are total idiots for not keeping a t2a shard, they did it for statloss with Siege Perilous after all and WAY more people wanted t2a to stay more than statloss to be kept out. Would be quite a money maker, well would have if they did it from the start, I bet I would still be playing it 10 years later...I'm playing these low population free shards aren't I? And so are thousands of people (over the years and counting all t2a style free shards). Maybe even tens of thousands of players from the first t2a free shard (after UO:R's release) to now. OSI missed out on all of those subscriptions, or at least a good portion of them might have been subscriptions.

In fairness it was a new GM who decided PVP wasnt balanced and thought up some wierd and wonderfull ways of balancing it, taking away archery from warriors was one - on that shard, it was a cruicial component of even having a chance of beating a mage

I heard tales of a pre-second age free shard before but never any names or information. I got a UO account right after t2a myself but I think my one friend had an account and we would run around being total retard noobs excited about picking up junk that people left on the ground perhaps before t2a. Always wanted to see what it was like.

Played t2a since 99 in various free shards eventually settling for 3/4 years in 1 befor it gave way ... now after some time away i decided to see what UO was doing and to my amazement found you lot on top of 200 and was delighted to see you stayed with the original T2A format without a host of biblical BS add on's... hopefully myself and some friends will be in your company soon

I saw someone post this website while waiting for the darkfall beta on the df forums. I played back in the days of uo:r and lbr, so I thought it might be fun to try an even older shard archetype. Hopefully, I'll enjoy this shard more than the newer shards.

whats up everyone, im new to the shard and currently still downloading the client. ive been playing on a different shard - ABCUO, got tired of the intense pvp and low pvm. so i decided to google up free uo shards and came across UO top 200. i missed how uo was back when it first started and im going to give this server a try.


btw, i got a few questions,
1. how good are dexers on this shard? (pvm and pvp)
2. any donating benefits?

There are huge benefits to donating, this shard is supported financially by the players who are able, there's nothing like that warm feeling in your belly knowing you're one of the ones who makes it possible

But, no we don't Sell and skills or in game items to players.

I'll have to let the players answer to the dexer question.

so far, so good. its been at least 24 hours since ive been on secondage. i like the overall gameplay going on here, lots of new players just like me and thats making it a much better experience.

however, i am from another server and there is something in particular that has proven useful to me and other players as well and that is durability of equipment...

durability on weapons, and armor - so here i am fighting noob mobs and i get a message above my avatar saying that i have something severely damaged. so i go and take a look at my armor and oops, no idea which weapon/shield/armor part is broken. away with that, i just let it break because i am not going to go and repair noob stuff at this point. are we ever going to implement something to indicate the current durability of our equipment?

i.e:
An exceptional dagger
durability: 100/100 (full durability)

or

An exceptional dagger
durability: 5/100 (severely damaged)

blah blah, i know this wasnt apart of this "era" but im not requesting anything huge, it just helps the overall gameplay for myself and other players.

could this be implemented? yes/no/maybe? if not, how are other players currently solving this problem?

Welcome to Second Age.

The arms lore skill would be completely nullified via a system such as that. We're really trying to stick to accuracy especially in cases like this. Really, if one item is damage that badly it's prolly time to repair them all. One way to tell though is to check what each item is giving you for AR, A piece in that poor of shape should provide virtually no protection.
