Limiting Razor Features
Re: Limiting Razor Features
That is definitely a pathetic argument as you pointed out Blackfoot... I didn't cry about people being able to macro resist in town soon as magery damage in town was wiped out. There were numerous changes that took place that people had a significant advantage for abuse when it came to gaining skills or resources prior to the fix. That is part of the game and if you missed out on it than that is simply too bad. The people that argue this point are simply selfish and care absolutely nothing about the goal of this shard putting their personal bias and initiatives before everything else.
Re: Limiting Razor Features
Anyone using macros to pvp for themselves needs to play a new game. I have yet to see anyone even do this. You act like its impossible to sync a dump in vent, so therefore people must be scripting in game.Faust wrote: The short version... Recordable Razor macros creates robot pvp, nothing more.
Re: Limiting Razor Features
Simply? Absolutly not with UOA or the game interface. You HAD to target what you stole. You could target an object, then choose stealing and the use 'last object' but you could never steal by type legally in T2A.Hoots wrote:Ok, stealing by type is much easier now, but wasnt there something accurate to the era that let you steal by type.

Re: Limiting Razor Features
Let's try not to derail this topic.
There was a lot to read through but what I basically gained from the opposition on this are two things:
Against changes simply because that wouldn't be convenient
Against certain changes because they were possible in the era through UOA or other 3rd party programs.
The latter is a valid statement, no removal of features that were possible back in the day would be done. Looping macros would still be possible, for instance.
Now for the first one, that is also the same argument that went against taming changes, bandage cutting, swing timers etc. and it has no substance whatsoever, this shard is only about recreating era game play. Even the little things like auto open doors affect game play, pvp most obviously.
Derrick and I both looked at it and it seems that the only changes possible would be the ones I quoted from the script, stealing by type, setting macros to hotkeys etc. do seem out of reach at the moment.

Re: Limiting Razor Features
I am definitely for limiting razor abilities. It is a bit too much sometimes.
Question... is it possible to get UOA to work? That would be pretty fantastic if we could just disable razor and use UOA.... though I fear the tears would flow pretty generously if this happened.

Code: Select all
SmartTarget = 1 << 2, // Smart Last Target
RandomTargets = 1 << 14,// All random target hotkeys (Not target next, last target, target self)
ClosestTargets = 1 << 15,// All closest target hotkeys
OverheadHealth = 1 << 16,// Health and Mana/Stam messages shown over player's heads

I support this event or product.
Re: Limiting Razor Features
There really is no point in using this script on the server that mandates the use of Razor if there are limitations in the script restricting the reach of the entire program. There is no need to limit a couple or few items that don't matter a whole lot when there are much more game breaking issues involving Razor. It looks like this issue will simply have to be placed on the shelf until a better process is used or RunUO updates the extent of the script to reach even further.Hemperor wrote:Derrick and I both looked at it and it seems that the only changes possible would be the ones I quoted from the script, stealing by type, setting macros to hotkeys etc. do seem out of reach at the moment.
