I find it funny that a guy can roll in here and tell us we shouldnt be having fun because it sucks here but he stays......

I know this is turning into a flame war, but let's not forget that the OP simply got it wrong. If it were true that Hally Mages were the only choice for top pvp'ing then he woudl have a point, but since that is in fact wrong, his demeanor or attitude isn't worth giving focus. I've watched Sandro give up on a dexer in the field. A well played dexer can stand up to the best hally mage with the proper gear, gadgets and disciple, and what's more there is more variety within the dexer template (where Hally mages pretty much focus on anat vs. wrestling and maybe another weap instead of swords). The thing with dexers is it's an inconvenient character. Low mana means no gating and less recalling so you can't cruise as much, so maybe he didn't bother with it (my hunch would be this...he doesn't strike me as the patient or thorough type).

The bard dude who agreed with him has it wrong too. You can provo balrons all day long and if you want to sweat, the bottom level of Terrathon Keep will keep the best bard very, very focused. Barding can be boring, sure, but the only argument for that is that PvM in general is boring.

True... I have pretty good luck on a dexxer.One of my friends Ill put up against anyone and hes a dexxer.Not saying he wont lose but anyone that kills him has to work hard for it.

I guess some people would rather just whine and cry......

People whining about the number of tank mages and saying dexxers aren't competitive is Era Accurate!

Your thread is nothing new here. It's not original, it's not creative. It's a re hashed gripe that happens here frequently when someone is slapped with the brutal reality that T2A wasn't exactly as they remembered it. It's always funny when someone says 'I loved the T2A era, except I hated this, that was dumb, this mechanic from another era was more fun' etc. etc.

It may be a little dismissive to respond with "GTFO NOOB", but c'mon. It's true there are other free shards that have a more customized cherry picked rule set. We die hard T2A'ers may think those shards are the laughing stock of the internet, but that doesn't mean other people don't enjoy them.

Your gripe about runebooks is invalid. It's not hard to keep your precious little books safe from the hands of vile thieves and PK's. Granted, a guy like me appreciates it when some dingbat jumps into a strange moongate (without precasting recall), gets munched by the trap set on the other side and provides me and my compañero with a pile of rune books. When someone does foolish stuff like that, they deserve to pay the price and not be insured by trammelry.

so what if it's all hally mages, at least everyone is on the same field. other character types are useful in groups, if you play a dexer well and equip it nicely it can be extremely deadly.

fact is that's just what this era is like, if you don't like it you don't have to play here

In regards to the first post,

Warriors are the strongest class on this shard. 90% of damage dealt in a 1 v 1 fight is based strictly on melee damage, and warriors get to wear chainmail and other stuff. I can go into every single detail explaining why dexxers are better, but I don't want to spend 20 minutes either.

i rarely play hally mage because it bores me. i have no problem killing them....on a mage or a dexer. adapt and overcome.

I hear you bro, but I don't think this is necessarily the right course of action, I mean afterall they're still your family and they love you. I think it's time you suck it up and just accept them for who they are instead of rejecting anyne who's different from you I mean let me compare it to my story, I'm not a 12ft lizard like you but i like to think I could be if i really tried, Anyway I digress, back when I was a young nipper my parents gave me a lot shtick (thats lisp for stick) about my actions reguarding what later became the christian church. TL;DR we're all different if you dont like uosa don't play but you will find that if you do any accomplishments/successes do come with a much deeper feeling of satisfaction then pop-up 7xgm servers.

Sandro, my warrior's template is unfinished. I'm planning on having obvious stuff:

100 str/100 dex/25 int

Fencing
Tactics
Healing
Anatomy
Resist

leaving 2 free skill slots. I'm not sure what to do with them. Right now I'm using those points for hiding, magery and meditation.

Magery is a must,GM if you can.
I like poison as the last but I also have a dexxer with hiding instead.He is extremely hard to kill even when he isnt item'ed out.

A lot of people think that poisoning is a waste but personally I think its the best dexxer template out there,just expensive to raise.
