I can understand people not wanting ethies. It's somewhat of an advantage, sure. But an advantage everyone can have. As I said, I wouldn't make it a big deal either way. But the very FEW places you're going to kill someone in town, they're still dead and have to run to the healers. And whichever town you're in, assuming you kill them near the bank, it's a decently-long run. You could have them looted before they even make it to res. (Brit Bank is really the only pvp spot in town, and that's a nice run to the healers for anyone.DemonArkanis wrote:I disagree, anything that effects the game at all is an advantage, whether it's small or big. If I kill someone at bank and second later they're back trying to loot, that's unfair. They can also rereg faster then the people on foot. I'm not saying its a huge deal but its a difference to me.

And it's not just the pvp you need to consider when thinking about ethies: think about the PvMers. They'd need to be able to reg up quicker, get back to their bodies, etc etc.
Either way it really needs to be considered if this shard is going to take off. Personally, I feel ethies would keep more people here in the long run. I know I would PREFER them. But I'd stay either way.
Its now half a year or so since yall have opened, id play here for years lol. lets get some vet rewards.Nevermore wrote:Well we've hardly been open two months, so I don't think vet rewards are really too important at the moment. And the life-span of players playing free shards isn't that long. How many of you really expect to be playing a year from now? Or two or three? The chances aren't very likely.
Besides just by playing the shard, vets will have plenty of things that most people who haven't been around as long don't.
im pretty sure this isnt the right place for that sort of behavior..... to the trash talking forumweedsmoke wrote:you add vet rewards this place will turn into UOGamers real fast.
and deano youre an idiot shut the fuck up.
To a large extent I feel the trophy turn in system fills much of this void. Most players who are turning in trophies for unique items have been here quite a while.ultimaforever wrote:Theres no point in you people even talking about ethies, let alone arguing they should be implemented, because Derrick will never allow it(I assume comfortably). So you might as well forget about ethies if you are going to play here.
I would like to see vet rewards implemented. Simple things like a choice of various things to decorate your house. Simple decorations, and only simple decorations because they offer no conceivable advantage but you can show off your UOSA vet status to house guests. Also there could be a factor of economy stimulation.
I agree, I think the trophies are a great replacement for vet rewards because it means that people who get rewards actually play. Having rewards based on account age is pretty stupid in my opinion because you can have an old account without having ever truly played the server.Derrick wrote: To a large extent I feel the trophy turn in system fills much of this void.
