I can understand people not wanting ethies. It's somewhat of an advantage, sure. But an advantage everyone can have. As I said, I wouldn't make it a big deal either way. But the very FEW places you're going to kill someone in town, they're still dead and have to run to the healers. And whichever town you're in, assuming you kill them near the bank, it's a decently-long run. You could have them looted before they even make it to res. (Brit Bank is really the only pvp spot in town, and that's a nice run to the healers for anyone. :))

And it's not just the pvp you need to consider when thinking about ethies: think about the PvMers. They'd need to be able to reg up quicker, get back to their bodies, etc etc.

Either way it really needs to be considered if this shard is going to take off. Personally, I feel ethies would keep more people here in the long run. I know I would PREFER them. But I'd stay either way. :)

People seem to forget that teh current death system is NOT the original T2A death system. Originally you chould choose an instant res to prevent item lost and a big cost in skill/attribute loss. do this and you can mount instantly.. but good luck trying to get on your mount (ethereals have a 3 second delay to mount) because not only are you lacking skills, you're also very injured and you still have to loot your items.

Run to the healers instead of instant res and you've now lost your items to a murderer or monster. If you have no risk of losing items, that's because your party mates are there to loot it for you or you simply don't care.

There is no advantage.

How many of you really expect to be playing a year from now? Or two or three? The chances aren't very likely.

Besides just by playing the shard, vets will have plenty of things that most people who haven't been around as long don't.
Its now half a year or so since yall have opened, id play here for years lol. lets get some vet rewards.
make 6 months ='s one year :D

i agree, vet rewards will make this shard too much like gamers. i love this shard because of its authenticity and the rlly "oldskool" feel. vet rewards would somewhat ruin it for me.

Theres no point in you people even talking about ethies, let alone arguing they should be implemented, because Derrick will never allow it(I assume comfortably). So you might as well forget about ethies if you are going to play here.

I would like to see vet rewards implemented. Simple things like a choice of various things to decorate your house. Simple decorations, and only simple decorations because they offer no conceivable advantage but you can show off your UOSA vet status to house guests. Also there could be a factor of economy stimulation.

To a large extent I feel the trophy turn in system fills much of this void. Most players who are turning in trophies for unique items have been here quite a while.

I agree, I think the trophies are a great replacement for vet rewards because it means that people who get rewards actually play. Having rewards based on account age is pretty stupid in my opinion because you can have an old account without having ever truly played the server.

I think this is a good point. Before the time of free-shards vet rewards were based on account age because regardless if somebody was actually playing their account or not, money was still being made.

Either make it year for year the same or just keep the trophy rewards. I hate when freeshards make 1 year = 3 months or whatever... Every reward but the Ethy's was just deco-fluff anyways. Spend your points on the decorations, special dyes, or special hair colors if you'd like them.
