Well, a lot of folks here are old schoolers who appreciated the dynamic of a player base (mostly) limited to 5 characters each back in the day. The crafting economy would flourish supporting the active PvP and PvM communities both, while drastically reducing the ability of any one player to be entirely self-sufficient.

While I respect that option here, I'm also not in favor of it. I really only have about five characters that I actually play with. Sturm, Nystul, Blaise and Zorn, with occasional play on my tamer Rudyom.

Less accounts please.

It can't really be done. Well, there might be a way but there would be no way to do it automatically. The admin would have to do it one at a time by hand if it was all possible. That's not gonna happen.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's easy enough actually from the admin's side of things, but yes, there is no way to automate it.
They would have to actually code something to allow you to choose characters that would then rewrite the account contents via script.

I know it's not likely to happen, just saying I'm in favor of such a change.

fairly certain in the past derrick told me in irc its impossible for him to move characters between accounts, keep on dreaming of account limit being one account. People would still break it any way doesn't mater what the fuck the legal limit is people are going to break rules

I still would like hear from staff about two things:

1. Are they or would they ever consider a change to account policy?

2. If so, could they restrict people to only playing one account at a time while allowing them to keep their three accounts (which surely is the only viable change, Ledouche!)? Or any other changes?

Its possible to code up Character Transfers, but I think that a limitation on the number of accounts logged in at the same time would be a more probable change.

Only allowing 1 account to be logged in at a time would certainly make being a Statloss Red mean something again.

Good Lord No! It needs to go in the opposite direction. I like the proposed idea of 1 account logged in per IP at a time as it seems like a logical and feasible change. Personally, i'd like to see everyone limited to 1 account period. Then having certain characters would matter on this shard. As it is, everyone can just macro up almost every character type which makes players not have to rely on anyone...which kills player interaction. Having 4 accounts would only make this worse.

still will be circumvented event with 1 ip limit easily, also by our target date i could play multiple accounts on my cable connection and had 3 accounts and was multiclienting this is a dead horse topic.

You know what this shard should have done? This shard should have a subscription cost of $10/month, BUT first account at each IP is free.

Yes I know you and "your brother" wouldn't both be able to have accounts without paying, but let's be honest, all of us could cut $10 out of our monthly budget (well actually, that would be $5 each).

This is not to say I'm suggesting this; just putting it out there as an interesting idea I had.

Could bring a ton of legal troubles for D and his team given they'd be profitting with someone else's copyrighted material.

I see no reason for there to be more accounts. In fact, I think one account each would make things more fun.

Could require a five dollar per month donation to some bland charity for ecru account beyond the first.....
