Back to topic. . .

If they took down guardzones it could be a PvP event depending on player interaction.

Also, it'd be nice to see something more than just bash the monsters. Like say, the orcish hoard only spreads if players aren't killing them fast enough in the towns they've already overrun. It'd be nice if there were some mechanics for players to actually help the hoard spread (e.g. let Bloodrock/evil RPers fight with the orcs.)

I like the idea of multiple town invasions. Not too sure about all of them at same time tho.

It seems i've been seeing more new new players as well as new returning old school ones. Be a bugger if they had nowhere to go to be "safe"

Also theres the economics. Would all attacked towns NPCs be killed? I like the idea of depleted reserves of regs and other items. It'd be price fixing everywhere. Player vendors jacking prices for quick profit and perhaps suffering the consequences later on. If one town was left safe those regs would be at such a premium. I remember in osi past when on at peak times it was almost impossible to find regs on any npc.

How far would the town monster spawns roam? would it be possible to retake a section of a town Like Brit SW, SE, NW or NE for example, at least temporarily. I always find those instant respawns in the same spot a bit lame. Be nice to see overwhelming forces coming in from another zone to return to that zone's "original" spawn location. no idea if thats a ton of work to do but it'd be cool.

Also would need a decent path to an 'end-game' perhaps not all cities completely re-taken at once. (maybe this could allow for a total town take over for day1 or evern first couple of days)

Anyway just some adding thoughts. I think done right this could top anything osi did

Have Juo'nar take over Trinsic with his army of undead for a couple of months, and nix the guard zone. Who cares if it's technically not era accurate, it would be better than the stupid pvp events.

It was one of the defining events of UO, imo. No need to add rewards of any kind. It would be a lot of fun.

Digging this up because it is full of excellent suggestions.

I am fully in favour of a global spawn invasion. Have every town lose guardzones for a week and be invaded by monsters. Set up some way for players to 'liberate' these towns ie; push back and eliminate the spawn and reclaim the town from the monsters.

I'm not sure if this could be achieved, that's up to the boss.

I would love to see a proper, cohesive 'war effort' by players against the invading mobs. I also like the idea of certain monsters during the event being friendly to eg; Urk, allowing them to fight alongside the invading hordes.

PKs unable to use recall or gate or enter player-made gates for a month, give some actual risk to what they do for once 8)


In seriousness- came in here to post that the town invasions, especially Trinsic, were one of the most fun things I remember from UO. I would say that it would be awesome if people could join the undead faction for RP or something, but that would be just an excuse to PK easier, unfortunately.

I agree with no personal rewards, town invasions are awesome. But maybe some town benefits to driving back an invasion or reclaiming parts of a town?

Planetary alignments wreck havoc on the animal zodiac signs, everyone on the server who has a stable spot filled with a bunny/cow/gorilla/spot camping-creature dies on log-in, all houses owned have the front door unlocked and fireworks at the entrance for 24 hours.

Rare items that normally spawn, seemingly have grown legs and started teleporting all over brit. They actively teleport and the only way to catch them is to get them at JUST the right time. They also hit as hard as dragons.

I like this one. Simply because it causes character death, and would provide me with opportunities to profit off of someone's loss.
