I have tried to contact you via email (a reply to yours) and IRC with no response.

The time to check this would have been the day it happened. Contacting staff immediately is recomended if you think something has gone wrong, however no blessed item has been known to be lost on UOSA to date.

As I do not know what character this happened to, I cannot "check datalogs" without talking to you.

You must be mistaken, or the GM was wrong.
Jimi[DF] wrote: Why would they mention that blessed items take damage? Because they did take damage. Why wouldn't they just say blessed items would break? They didn't because they don't break.
Okay then, using your logic as a reference,
I talked to a GM on Pacific in early 99' and he told me that blessed sandals would give me 10 additional stealth steps. The patch notes do not say that they don't give 10 additional stealth steps, so why would they not?

I think you will find this link helpful.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
The patch notes also do not say that blessed items break, do they? So why would we change it? I am speaking from my experience from wearing the same black blessed sandals for a year and a half along with a GM telling me so. You are using patch notes that say they take damage(which they do) and horrible chatlogs from 2002 as the basis for your change, which provides absolutly no proof whatsoever. Then all of a sudden you had 2 blessed sandals break on OSI? LOL. Like that wouldn't be one of the first things you would have said to support that blessed items actually broke. The ignorance lies with you.

No it doesn't. You are wrong. Reading anything you type would be a lesson in futility.

You are just being ridiculous now. Instead of trying to get into a yes/no/yes/no argument, why not look up the information and prove that somehow, contrary to how all other items work, a bless deed will magically prevent an item from breaking.

I know there were changes later on in UO, where blessed items could not (for instance) be put in a trash can accidentally. That is probably what your thinking of, unless you have other information, though it has become obvious that you don't.

Why is anyone even arguing that blessed items didn't get destroyed?

So many blessed black sandals were destroyed by macers back in the day...

Blessed items being destroyed in early 2000..

Apparently Jimi[DF] claims all that information is unreliable because he knows, through personal experience, that blessed items did not break.

Sorry to hear you are leaving arsen. You should consider loaning your rares to the museum rather than handing them to your greedy "friends" who will probably just sell the crap off.

I love how you requoted the same newsgroups as Matron. We all know google newsgroups are the end all be all about uo. All those news groups are past the cut off date also. Early 99 to mid 01 and my blessed sandals never broke, all the evidence I need. Again why would they not say blessed items would break in the patch notes? Newbie items did break. It could be like Derrick was getting at though. If you are always wearing pants that have higher armor your sandals would not take damage. I never ran around naked with my sandals. Which could explain why my sandals didn't break for 1.5 years. But would not explain why a Pacific GM would lie to me.

Again why would they not say blessed items would break in the patch notes?
Because it was inferred. There's a patch note saying they take damage and no patch note saying they don't break. If blessed items didn't break I would really expect it to be mentioned in the patch notes, as it is opposite to the norm. I can't comment either way so it's complete opinion based on what I have read.

I'd say it's more likely that if your sandals didn't break, it was due to what Derrick said.

Are you really quoting a forum off of google that's over 8 years old and trying to throw it in our face as evidence? If someone quoted this forum 8 years from now and took NOT every word, but only half the information people spewed on here and made a shard, what would it look like? Think about it. Forum quotes and conversations hold absolutely zero credibility, espically from 7-8+ years ago.
