I see the argument for having things like Paralyze Field involved... but this takes away part of the spontaneity of it... and it also takes away the crowd aspect of it. Like, if 20 of us are battling it out on the roof of Wrong, that's fun for us. If 10 of us are running around the WBB with clubs and viking swords whacking each other on the head, a few people who are banking at the moment, or just sitting around, may notice and want to learn more, make a char, etc.

Also, regarding weapons, I had another thought... since we don't use [practice weapon] newbie items on this shard, it would be possible to have everyone keep their newbie maul, dagger, spear, or whatever sword they start with (I forget), so that they could resurrect with it and get right back in it (I'm thinking if this happens in town... run to the healer and be back in the mix within 30 seconds or so). Or, there could be a no-looting rule or something. I just don't want to see a 10v10 battle end in 60 seconds.

I imagine town battles will be the most common thing for unorganized fights.

This is a good idea, but we'll have to experiment on that, and see if it works out. I'm not sure how hard newbie weapons hit.

The first set of official rules are up!

http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic. ... 81#p100581

Do note that they will likely change over time as we figure out what works and what needs repair.

If you want to join, contact me via PM here or IRC, then make a charactar and get to building him.

(Yes, I know Eduardo is in Freedom Fries even though he has forbidden skills. That is me. And he is merely holding the stone until I make a new character for it or give the stone over to someone else.)

If you start with Healing or Anatomy, you get bandages which are newbified, but you only get like 5.

The newbie weapons should hit just as hard as a store-bought weapon.

Perhaps then the thing to do is limit people to the type of weapons that can be newbied, so you really dont' even need to have others. This will require some testing!
