I second that! My 2 contentions with the event system is:
1) They are instanced and safe from griefing - why is it everyone else can get griefed from house looting, pking, vendor bombs, wyrm bombs etc....yet the pvp'ers are totally safe in their little slice of trammel? Move them to the real world and run them as often as you like! Full Stat Loss reds being able to come in and participate with no fear of death/stat loss is a joke.
2) Silver/rares/rewards - yank this system out and change it over to a gold sink that EVERYONE from crafters to PVP'ers to thieves all have equal access to. The world needs a gold sink as the amount of gold going around is just silly.....
So put them in the real world and yank silver/reward system and I bet everyone against it would be a-ok with it.

Everyone in this thread needs to stop referring to events as purely pvp events for pvpers.

The only reason matron is saying there has been more pvp is cause ive called in THE POWERFUL WIZARD to pull my ass outa the fire for the last week atleast once a night! If u want pvp you have to either side with or against the Bonganator!

Survival is instanced PVM - which is ridiculous (play WOW if you want that), and bagball - do people kill other people in bagball? If so thats PvP to me....

No, I didn't claim it was.. just putting the statistics there as it was claimed there was a drop in average clients online

no people dont kill each other in bagball... so i guess its non pvp. They work as a team to move a heavy bag from one side of a rectangle to the other. You should come watch or play it sometime so you know what were talking about.
Survival game is awesome. I have seen WoW, how does wow compare to survival? wtf
In wow players are stuck in a tiny box and compete as harder monsters come at them one at a time until only one player is left standing.
You need to come and see these events before making posts about them where you clearly don't understand what the events actually are.

They are probably doing so because 99.9% of the Events are PvP oriented.
Your the only one making reference to Bagball

Survival is instanced PvM. WOW is instanced PvM. Seen it....not very exciting.
UO during our era was never instanced and safe.

And the more instanced wow got the less fun it was. The moongates for events are another thing I really dislike, they allow people who don't even goto events to use them to hop straight to t2a from Brittain. It really takes away from the dignity of the shard when you can mess up the immersion by jumping from Brittain to Papua or Delucia.
I think there will be less "destruction" removing safe/instanced events entirely than to keep them in hopes of "not stiring anything up".
Remember, we have that awesome solution. Make all accurate "Silver prizes" available by gold from a vendor or something. It will be a set amount but that's just how it is, it won't be any worse than the current system where silver is worth so much.

All arguments everyone is making to change events are all pointing to how bagball runs currently, no red gates, no safe trammel sign up zone.

True, I personally would have no issue with events if they took place in the "real world" where normal player interaction would still be possible, but most the events wouldn't work in those circumstances and would be entirely unpopular

No, all arguments do not point that way actually, but that would be a significant improvement.
