I played Gl from shortly after Beta I think. You could run and shoot with bows and train archery by standing with bow in hand against a polar bear.

I remember Trugag(?) because I played with the orcs just before I left. That was fun because I just showed up as newbie and played the part without much skill. I remember there was a funny guy who was a tamer and they were all really cool. Its something I would do again for sure if I had more time to play. I was Bradley Slayer, started off blue in *R* Retribution when order came out Rokafella was our guildmaster. We were always outnumbered and we died alot but it was tons of fun. Massive battle gating to every bank raiding and dungeons too. Fought battles as an orc vs different guilds, just alot of fun. Before I quit I was red by the crossroads and killed any non capable player that came by. I eventually came to a bad end because these noto pks showed up with ho chi min hats and dispelled my deamons and said " Well Well Well " I said Recall but alas I hit the wrong rune and recalled to a spot still on screen laughing my ass off!! haha They all laughed and then killed me :) Miss those days. Hell one day i killed like 7 new to mid level guys ressed them created a guild and everybody we killed joined us and we had a helluva little army for day :)

Last thing I remember was haha. My friends an I made bald headed newbies in dark robes. Buddy gave us all Greater explode postions. So we had a mage gate us to different banks where people would sit with big fancy titles talking smack. Well we would roleplay monks and talk about sin then surround a character and all throw greaters in suicide bomb attack killing them an us. They lost alot of fame karma and were so pissed :) So then when we showed up at banks the next couple days people would take off haha. But alas we quit doing it and when trammel came just left in disgust. But anyway i am back, aetius is my warrior, Gerald ford is my crafter and my soon to be thief treasure hunter is going to be named artemis black muhaha............

Love this shard its like the old days but its anal retentive free! Love this shard.

I played GL from UO:R to 2003, so sadly I missed the T2A era. I was a small-timer, mostly PvM but occasional PvP, too. My characters were Jackal, Jackal X and Sir Noobsalot...chances are you don't remember me but I had a lot of good memories. It's been really educating and fun learning here what the era was like.

Yeah I have met good people on here so far. Heck even the pks are cool. I mean one time i lost my temper but its because I was training up in jhelom arean and had no clue or forgot it wasnt in guards zone, so I was quite shocked when my semi afk macro time was interupted by a dude bringing a world of ghouls and skeles into the arean and catching me off guard. I said some rude things but all good, lesson learned.

yah i kind of enjoy the lower population kind of. I mean for the good of the shard I wish it was packed but for now its pretty fun just running around enjoying a break from real life. My wife is 10x worse then any pk. I would rather face malice then my wife :)

I found a great "UO in RL" video on Youtube and wanted to share it here with my GL peeps. I'm sure most of us can relate to this!

Here are some of the notables I remember:
LANCELOT
EXCALIBUR (archer mage pk ~ covetous was his spot)
Ho Chi Mihn

Flea
TAZ
AleXi
Arkanis
TT Stoner
HazE
Nostradamus or Nosferatu (I forget which)

Lot of fun times.. and having a blast on UOSA as well. Any active old school GLers anymore?

Hey guys, I used to play GL back from 99-2005-ish.
My main guy was Akai. I still have his account too and some pretty rare stuff. Every now and then I rejoin and strut around in my ranger armor and double blessed sandles and crap like that.

I don't ughh really remember the guilds I was in haha. Except I was in the guild that wore light blue capes and I always hung out in Trinsic. Was there through the whole "taking over" of Trinsic and got some great pictures somewhere of it.

Hey everyone,

I played GL for about 8 years - was in a guild called Black Company run by Sir Bart (JD) - we wtfpwned the shard for years but it seems when WoW came out, we lost half the guild - it still was fun but I will never forget the field battles.. I ended up owning a house in the inner Luna City walls, becoming a Trammie and making hundreds of mils before selling all of my accounts and that awesome house I MISS THAT HOUSE - for $900, which if you add up all the time you spend building characters, it would be around a mil IRL lol. My notable characters were Myrnae (my namesake on the forum) and I had a Ninja deathdealer I used at the end that had GM spiritspeak and with stealth, could follow ghosts back in field fights to where the enemy was healing and call in the troops to roll em again.. those were the days lol

Wow I remember a lot of you. Reading through this whole thread has brought back sooo many memories. I was KaoS from CPT and probably some other guilds that barely remember. I wish I could go back to those days ;)

I was Hunter X. Played on GL from 97-till UO:R.

Was in Vas Sanct, based out of Yew. We had the shop right by the Winery. Was pretty active in the Yew scene.

Drank at Kaz's a lot. Killed Lum The Mad before he got famous haha.

Recognize some of these names.

Feels like home.

The Old Wolven Knights 1997-2002 still live, most of us keep in contact in real life, Bowhunter, Hawke and Rockafella both brothers are on my facebook friends list.

I played Evilice, Robin Hood (Chased Alexxius Machine out of east brit forest with that toon).
ReDnEcK
Santa Clause

I still have a lot of screenshots on archive from my old angelfire account, from Wk and EWK's old MN/SB Wars, and have one from Kazola's with WK In attendance circa 98/99.

I actually still play Ultima Online a few hours a week, there is a group of us on Great Lakes that are building a town south of Yew Gate Trammel.

Anyone that wants to contact me can hit me up at ICQ: 454946590
