I've never stated that I had no clue what the argument was, I said I don't understand why the people are crying, because events really don't do shit. It's not going to mean more people to steal from, as they'll prolly still be in their houses. It will not mean more field PvP. The only aspect I can see it improving is Pking, but even then it'll matter very little.

So it brings me yet to my original point.. wtf is your point? Tournies take too long!? Great.

Limiting and removing events is not an instant thing. It is a slow process to change the falsely induced playstyle of the population. It has to be done right or else it wont work. The shard must slowly remove tourneys over a few weeks time to get them back to weekends. This will also help players get back to the real UO. Events like ctf and dd should be limited to once a day, then every other day, then once every 3 days, then removed... or something of that nature. I'm sure if anyone has a plan for the goodness of the shard its Derrick.

a lot of trophies at 15k/ea are given out everyday. most of them to these pvpers... ezy money...

There are plenty of events players can get trophys without having to l33t pvp. Although being good at the non pvp events increaes your odds of success just the same as being good at pvp events increases your odds of scuccess.

easy money atm. pvm is pointless if you can win tournaments.

I think all the arguments against events have been laid out pretty clearly already.

The no-risk playstyle is what I came here to avoid. Trophy points are the center of the server economy and completely innacurate. Forcing players to put up with extremely irritating changes in the name of era accuracy is already a tough pill to swallow, but atleast I came here knowing to expect that. Events feel like you are rubbing it in my face that I don't play to pvp. Events do a lot to kill player interaction and blah blah blah.

Events suck.

Automated events are an anomaly on this shard. They detract from the actual game by deterring players from the normal content, siphoning them off of the map, and destroying the atmosphere of the game.

Ultima Online is supposed to have real risk, real reward, and most importantly, real consequences.

dunno why i should need to enter any event for some ezy trophy moniez at all... once again: let events be for fun and fun only...

btw. multi-login is another one of these policy decision that favors a pvp-style, because it makes stateloss a lot less severe than it was back in the days... but let's discuss it in another thread, because that is another topic: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=15022&sid=78cfc0fa ... 911067a6c0
