To successfully transfer a pet, as far as I know, it must have some possible chance of obeying them. This can be determined (according to the receivers animal lore and taming skill) by the calculator here: http://www.tamingarchive.com/main/contr ... 0&lore=100

It's probably a bad idea to attempt using dragons to any considerable degree without being able to tame them yourself, as even at 93.9 they can still be disobedient, drop quickly in happiness, and just be a pain. And at that level of taming, every .1 gain you get in taming makes a noticeable difference in control.

Only to other players. NPCs do not buy pets.

Here's a better question, how do you have 85 Taming and only 50 lore?
Each time a creature is tamed by a different tamer, it's minimum taming difficulty goes up by 6 points, so you can get better gains if you work with this method correctly.
Help me out with using this method "Correctly"

Does it go like this:
Player 1 (P1) tame Animal A (AA)
Player 2 (P2) tame Animal B (AB)

Then P1 release AA
P2 release AB

P1 Tame AB and P2 Tame AA

Lather, rinse, repeat?

It's unique to player, I assume...

So if XX animal gets tamed by Player Y, it's requirement goes up by 6.0. If it's tamed by 4 UNIQUE players, it's requirement goes up by 24.0 skillpoints.

I used this method to help power my friend through the harder areas of taming...IE: Pre-taming bulls/White Wolves.

Also, I'd like to add that Taming is one of easiest/profitable skills in the game.

Yes, it takes time, but that's all it takes...well that and motivation, but you should have that prior to even thinking about taking on taming.

You literally won't have to spend a reg until the 85+

even then i only use 75 each reg to tame 4-5 dragons.

I realize this guide was written in 2008 but this just doesn't seem right...

GM tamer in 5 days?

I spent 6 hours hardcore taming on ice island, taming just polar bears and walruses. I started at 59.2 and ended up at 63.1

The author mentions starting at 59.2 as well and 4.5 hours later he's at 69.4? He tamed exactly what I tamed, for less time, and got triple my gains?

What's the catch? Am I missing something? I'd REALLY like to gain faster.

Thanks

BTW: I had a GM tamer on OSI shard and I remember it going much faster than what I'm seeing here... is my memory right/wrong?

Do you need animal lore in order to tame certain high end creatures? Is it a necessary tamer skill? What are some tamers templates? I was thinking: Magery, Animal Taming, Music, Provoke, Cartogrophy, Lockpicking and one other. Obviously i was thinking dungeon chests and tmaps on this character also...If lore is needed ill take that, if not maybe resist. Ive never made a tamer before so any more info would be awsome.
