My temp looks like this

Mace
tacts
anat
heal
mage
resist
parry

But I have higher intel, I dont fly solo...I wear heavy armour...basically your healer.
This is about taking the abuse being in the thick of it to support your melee fighters or cast support magics. I use mace because it slows the opponent so it makes healing easier and destroys ar which makes killing them faster...as a group though.

Best thing to do is sit down and think what will my character be doing. Is he solo, is he a guildy or party member, what would be expected of him etc etc

standard rule for me. PVP is either 0 or 100 magery. Besides magery there is no other skill (imho) useful in combat at 40 or 50 skill (to pair with 50 magery)*

100 magery = more points from GH, and i believe a higher chance to cure poison???

I could be talked into 2 exceptions of the rule..

50 wrestle, will give you about a 25% to avoid an attack from a gm
50 Tracking!!! Great skill to have on any pvp char that can spare the points.

The problem with 50 magery is you can fail 4ths.. So if you want the minimum magery to not fail a 4th you need 70.1

so then your looking at 29.9 of what? tracking or wrestle? this is where my 0 or 100 rule came from
Tracking use to be plenty good at 27.1. It was about as good as GM back in the day of UOR.

In group combat (Field Fighting), and unless you're an orc. Never think of yourself as a healer. Often times in a fight Bandage xhealing is a drawback where everyone is mounted. So, Either you can make it where you pull a guy and atleast one of his guildies out of the general fight with no troubles surviving it mind you, or you're a hinderance. Because if you attack a mage and one of his buddies are left with no choice but to xheal him to keep him alive you effectively shift odds.

I say that cause you wanna hit hard and fast. While Macing does take down ar and stam it is, in the span of a fight, a long run affect. one on one it's down right deadly. In a group fight? It can be deadly but it depends on how you use it and what you use weapon wise. But yea ultimately I think you have the equation down and it'll be up on you to figure it out. (Plus I felt like I was starting to ramble lol).

Well Cleric isnt in Ultima so I used the term healer. Pretty much I keep Bless protect and magic reflection casted and am primarily the target of abuse or I am right in front X/G-Healing if not while in combat.

The parry mage is probably a better description of a healer. I am guessing "i's" temp looks like this.

Med
Resist
Eval
Healing
parry
Wrestling.

maybe even 70 anatomy while dropping everything else to 90
who knows

I was actually considering this at one time being you could keep up some defense while regenerating mana.

is tactics better then anatomy then?

That temp can no way carry the term dex lol. It's not dexxer at all outside of the weapon use.

Yeah, that is your classic 7x tank mage...100-25-100 or something close.

Not even close to a dexer template as Kukluk mentioned.

Dexer means you have more dex than int, and primarily use weapons as damage.

I use this template and it kills a lot of mages but is weak against dexers..

Tactics
Healing
Anatomy
Magery
Resist
Meditation

90 str
90 dex
45 int

Quwarterstaff, all the way.

A dexxer imo, is anyone who depends on Healing as a main source of recoup, and has a weapon skill. Anyone who has magery/med/ and Eval is a mage with a weapon skill.....

i would recommend having gm resist and higher magery so you don't fizzle while recalling.
maybe 60 magery, 40 hiding?

Keep a high ar and a dp kryss use it after you slow them down and softern them up so they dont expect it burning more stam when they run
