The problem isn't just the preview though... I think it's the target cursor too. I couldn't make any rhyme or reason as to how the spot I targeted had anything to do with where the house was going to be placed. If for example, we knew we were targeting the tile on which the house sign would be placed, or where the front left corner would be, that would make sense. But I don't think it works like that right now.

As for the preview shadow thing, I'd definitely suggest disabling it. It definitely doesn't help placement and for me at least, kind of hinders it. Without it, we're at least just looking at one wild variable - the relationship of the crosshairs target to the ultimate house spot.

There are many many many people with max houses, and theres nothing really wrong with that. Other then them being mostly empty, a little simple deco would spruce things up.

It gives a feel of a larger community, gives more chances at idoc's, and makes realestate a profitable market.

If i want to cover an area in houses, and sell them at a profit, that should be ok.
The problem is people just put up houses wherever hoping to make a quick buck, or think they're "snagging" some prime real estate. I don't care for the optical trick of "more houses must mean a larger player base." Most of the player towns we have are just this; 1 person owns half the town.

People still bash BoT because its almost impossible to go somewhere and not see a house he owns. "Holding them for friends accounts" still his excuse?

1 house per char, with a max of 3 accounts is 15 houses; a bit over redundant in my book. I do fine with 1, could probably use a second one for a vendor, but thats it. It should be 1 house per account, with the exception of rune libraries and/or vendors at the consent of the player base (public polls like we do with player towns.)

I had 3 accounts, when UO came out i was working with a credit card.

it was like 30 dollars a month, it really wasnt a big deal. I had a tirad of computers in front of me too. There is so much proof that many powergamers (ie us , the people willing to play a retro game) had more then one account.

His point is how many houses u could have, not if u were a powergamer and had multiple accounts.

This argument is old, but, its really just impossible to read through it without pointing out that Tekai is a big liar. So without adding anything to the conversation I just wanted to point that out because it really needs to be said over and over and over.

OH! and btw, you being a "powergamer" because 12 years ago you had 3 accounts and 3 monitors to watch your 15 houses is akin to calling the guy who bought a Pac Man Arcade game and installed it in his house so he could beat the record of longest game ever on one quarter a "powergamer." What you really are is a douchebag who lies to support his fantastic claims and keep the status quo so that he wont lose 12 of his fantasy houses.

Its pretty clear you were a hardass with alot of money to have multiple accounts. As Hiicha stated though, I was merely saying that you could not have 1 house per character.

Yes you could have one house per charecter what are you talking about?

me being a liar? how are you even saying that?

Don't you remember condemned houses? If you had more then one house per account when the patch went live if you placed another house all your houses became condemned.

in 1999 I had 11ish houses across 3 accounts. Two accounts were maxed out, and i never placed another house on them, and the third was my broker account. I bought and sold realestate on playerauctions and other websites, this is how i can prove i'm not lieing.

My credibility shouldnt be taken in to consideration, what I said was a FACT. Other people and myself had multiple accounts, and many houses. If I could handle taking over / utilizing the housing market when i was 17 (omgs my dad co-signed my credit card), your damn right i can handle it on a server with 1/5 the population when im 27 with a degree.

Oh and another point

i bought several accounts BECAUSE of housing, and the ability to get my "own plot" of land. I was one of four dragon tamers in early great lakes, I was friends with Sintil Wintil, the one guy on the server with the ancient wyrm. Kievan could probably back me up on knowning the AW guy.

I don't know about any of you, but the game was not scarry or hard for me when i was 17. I farmed with 4 dragons the moment i could, and taming was all I did every time I loged in until that time.

Farming gold was easy, my friends used to joke. Nik would ask Kyle, Hey whats the easiest way to make money in UO? Easy Kyle would say, as he loged into one of my accounts and droped 10k on the ground.

I bought the houses next to my tower which i put up way way before t2a. Then I bought all of hidden valley, and a castle. So there you have it, only 2 accounts and 10 houses. Then i bought a third account to buy and sell houses, i used a third account for fear of being banned.

Fact : Houses and accounts with multiple houses were bought and sold during 1999 t2a.

Fact : Some of us play here. I believe Nox is another PA broker, If he had played on greatlakes we would have done buisness together.

1. Tekai isn't lying. Why would a person lie about something this trivial? That's a hypothetical. Your invalidation of his claim only makes you look like a douche bag.

2. What makes you even more of a stupid prick for your mouth is that you would go off the handle and start verbally assaulting someone over his "fantasy houses". A valid justification indeed.
