Lol I love how your defensiveness of the idea is turning into just focusing on me. No I'm not wealthy by T2A standards, but I do have enough resources that I put a bear skin rug in my house on a whim and haven't missed the gold.

Moving back to the point, you're asking too much without offering anything in return. If your proposed donation in exchange for bragging rights was even in the realm of realistic, at least one person would have offered to do it by now. So that list is still empty, right? I'm just trying to point out the obvious to you, that if you really want to do that as a way to solicit donations for new players, make it so that if someone's name does show up on the list, they won't just be looked at as a joke because they were scammed out of a castle deed to be part of a list nobody cares about.

Not to mention, yea I support helping out new players, but a castle deed? Where's the fun in starting a game with that much resources. Help out a new guy by getting them a small or a patio at most and get them some regs to train up a functional char or two, but starting with enough to make all the 7x chars you want with excess devalues what you could earn and the amount of work it takes to get there other than just waiting for your Xmas trophies/etc and selling the silver to vets. Anyways, I'll shut up now and totally offer to eat my own words if you get offers on this. Just pointing out what I think is obvious.

This thread on the whole is only ever going to be a hearsay list of who people think is the richest, and not what you intended it to be.

am I rich just for technically owning someone elses years of work in UOSA?

I don't know if I could be considered rich in this game. I don't feel like most of the things are mine. I am just keeping a friend's legacy intact.

I think I only personally own 4 or 5 uniques.

The Museum stuff is in a mental gray area to me.

If anyone else plans to quit and doesn't want their stuff sold or lost, gimme a ring. I seem to be the guy for that sorta thing.

I like the points you brought up in this post, perhaps more detail on how the donations are going to be used will help.

New players won't be getting castle deeds for starters, they will however get regs/runebook/bandages/food/mount/weapon of choice and sponsorship that yes may eventually lead to a nice small in a remote area. Your values are off, I am preparing for 100+ new players. My intentions of bringing multitudes of players are priority #1, this would be immensely.

This is going to get moved to trash talk real soon by the way it looks. Was probably not the best idea to start this thread.
A lot of us "wealthy" people here don't need to prove anything because everyone pretty much knows everyone and everything about them.

Also, I think its funny you guys are shouting out a bunch of inactive people's names. I'm pretty sure to be on the list of richest people you have to be active to give this guy gold for who knows what reasons.

Anyways, sorry for your thread but I honestly don't think you'll get anyone's vote or castle deed, and it's not because, "we must not be wealthy" its simply just a bad idea. Many of us have just giving stuff away in the past and prolly will continue to do so in the future but we don't need bragging rights here. Also I can assure you a castle deed wont make or break a majority of us here.

Great and noble idea but ppl with hundred mil would rather let it sit in bank and hop on only to refresh 10 catsles than to help new players unfortunately and would only be 1/100th of their gold...if i had even 2 castles deeds ill donate 1 of them...id be rich as shit if i farmed everyday but instead of farming im always helping ppl make money or just helping them with anything and everything...more rewarding than letting buncha deeds sit in bank.

gold is the least valuable thing in this game....

Those that have gold, have nothing left to spend it on. The gold sits in wait for something worth buying.

If you watn to help new players....just help new players.. I handed out 100s of ks before and they just all quit. You have to work for your own things for it to be of value to you.

Speak for yourself on that one. The gold I have (not very much) is constantly spent on supplying myself with regs/kegs/weapons/armor/magics and the occasional house decoration item. I can blow though gold very fast spending it on these things.

There are four ways to get silly rich here, be great at IDOC'ing, spend months farming elder gazers with a tamer, be a highly successful merchant with access or ownership to a prime banking house, or have one of the previous three player type's give you all their stuff when they quit.

Hi GK,

I see what you are saying, and respect what you have done for Blackfoot along with the shard.

You were handed a great deal of things from many people unless my memory serves me falsely and over the years we have had many a conversation in Skara Brae regarding such matters. It shocks me to hear this point of you.

The thing is money is the most used item for purchase, with it I can do the above aforementioned "things" for these new players to get them started. Can I accumulate massive wealth personally and give that away? Yes, I can, technically. Alas I do not have the means to spend hours on end farming on a Tamer or waiting for IDOC's and the friends I have on here either gave their hearts out already to give to new recruits or the others made an inward spiral of seclusion and greed.

The above reasons left me with no choice but to resort to "unique" methods of raising said funds to allow me to help as much as possible in both a timely manner and a keep my job in rl kind of way.

I don't understand all the negativity towards this, but let's try something new...

I'm changing this thread to a fund raising event that will carry into a in-game event...
