It does seem as though the shard has been running on autopilot for awhile.

The events are a labor of love for the people on the server. Turns out that this year you all suck and get nothing. Try harder next year.

Very disappointing, well iwill check back later but yall are right, the gifts for Independence Day are not that great, but just nice to have a bag from all years, im sure its not a hard script to run for derrick, im going with the autopilot theory.

Get used to it. I started in the Fall of 2010 and have seen zero events, unless a player or guild sponsored it and provided their own content/rewards. If you look at all the cool rares and trophies, they were all done prior to then. I still like the shard though but events would be great. I personally think they were allowed to get shard numbers up and subscriptions established, them let the shard run itself.

Myrnae, I started in February of 2011 and took part in a handful of Monster Bashes, 1v1/2v2 tournaments and numerous Capture the Flag matches. Most player run events were far less memorable or frequent, but all of them happened well after you started here.

Perhaps you weren't paying attention?

Perhaps. When was the last one you were in? Were those events that got trophies and other goodies or just plain events?

Ah disregard, I must be on crack or something my account says its only 558 days old. So 1.5 years? I dunno why it seems I have been here much longer lol. At any rate, no "real" events since I have been here.

I was told when I started playing that this server was on auto-pilot. However, in the near 8 months I've been here, I've noticed a steady decline in presence of staff in-game or on the forums. I don't think it's that big of a deal and I believe it to be an easy fix. Events, cool, wrong thread for that. However, Kaivan already stated that there will never be events again. That makes me sad, but let's not digress. I'd like to know why there were no gifts today. If it was intentional, a reason would be nice. Otherwise, it is a negligent blunder.

The GM's are not our slaves. It is nice when we get gifts but it is a gift, not an entitlement, otherwise, they would be called Holiday Entitlement Bags.

Derrick was online yesterday and responding in main room IRC.

Been playing off and on and off again since 2009. Never once made a point to log on for any holiday. I have received absolutely zero "rewards" from this shard. I like it that way. Those things should be more rare than they are right now and most def not entitled items.

Don't we get enough "rewards" from looting houses everyday from people who don't care about their pixels anymore anyway?
