if you ever see me in irc when having trouble. message me and i will gladly help run off the griefers. another option would be to hunt in a group and learn to cross heal. it really isn't that hard to stay alive. make sure you're well stocked with regs/pots/trapped pouches.

there are unfortunately a lot of players who get their jollies killing new players. whether they have small penis' or got picked on alot irl, idk. but really makes no sense killing people trying to get started on the game.

There are groups of people out there that team up together to fight back against reds. Feel free to jump in our IRC channel #C^V and join us in hunts. We normally will hunt spots with high yield and fight the reds that roll in. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. But we always have fun doing it (and most of the time there's a little loot left over to cover what we lost).

That was it; the straw that broke the camel's back. Everyone on this server is a goddamn PK! This isn't Ultima Online, it's Escape from fucking New York (or Britannia as the case may be). What's the point? All I'm doing is enriching a bunch of veteran players. There is NOTHING on this server for new players. Derrick, you're trying to attack more players, but I can't really say I would recommend this server to anyone. I guess it would be with the caveat that they will never be able to hunt even a few liches without getting PKed, so if they enjoy getting ass-raped on a daily basis, then I guess this server is for them.

We had just dropped Ill, when a balron spawned ontop of us, and A LOT of shit spawn was harassing, just making it tough to move. They came back and we were DEFINITELY not prepared to fight back, so after one of us dropped, I waited for the other 2 of my guys to get out, and when I tried to recall it was too late for me.

Final score: Them 2 - us 1

I have to chime in, since I felt the same way back when i was under a few months old.

i hate hate HATED the same things you are upset with, for the same reasons. I could NOT make money without being jumped.

I delved into how to make money without dungeon running. Selling ore/ingots/wood/bows etc to start off, eventually had enough to work on magery. Made a bard, hunted in areas for brief moments, and rotated to stay random.

TBH, making a razor bug-out macro made it fairly easy to survive.


I'm not saying this era is for everyone, but ANYONE can find ways to stay moving in the right direction. More ways to get gold pixels besides dexxer --> silver wep ---> millionaire on liches. If you are dying to the same methods each time....... use new methods!

The main character I hunt with has two things that help me escape almost all encounters with PKs:

1) GM Hiding
2) More importantly, a hotkey (I use F12) that instantly recalls me to someplace safer. See a red, hit F12, zip off to a bank or your house. Plus the added benefit of frustrating the PKs.

Even if you don't want to GM hiding because you want to raise other skills, the hotkey will still save you most of the time.
