A small deed is indeed a deed for a small house, and it is precisely 43.8k.

And correct, you will not gain resist in town because you will not be taking damage. I suggest you find one of the players who lend houses to new players to macro in.

Thanks again for the info. That was what I was thinking but then wondered why one wouldn't just say 44k hehe. Anyway, I am making good progress on my mage. GM swords, tactics, eval, med and wrestling. All thats left is magery and resist. Unfortunately, I am going to have to earn some gold as I accidently dropped a stack of 40k which was quickly snatched by someone :(. Oh well. I am still excited to play here.

Housing deeds have become the standard form of measurement, largely because they are blessed. Therefore, they can't be stolen and as long as you aren't red it will appear in your pack after being rez'd (if you die w/ one in your pack). Likewise, they can be sold back to NPC's for the original sale price. Since bank checks don't exist in this era, its the most secure way to handle money and the closest to bank checks you can find in era.

Edit: Deeds are newbified, not blessed. The end result is the same, with one major caveat: they decay quickly on the ground. Placing a house deed on the ground for 90 seconds will cause it to decay and you to lose it.
