Just check the housing forum often, leave a book with contact details on unused houses doorsteps in case they wish to sell, make a post with how much gold you're willing to drop on a house and what you're looking for and you might get a response. You'll find one for the right price soon enough. I always feel like good housing comes in waves. For every extra day someone wait to buy their 'larger-than-a-small' house they can save 5-50k depending on their play style and amount of time available to play.
At worst you can afford a decent brick for 25k over deed at best you can buy a prime patio or maybe even a two-story house after just 5 days.

Housing is just not era accurate on T2A, because we get 3 free accounts. The number of people who could have as many houses as we accumulate here in old UO was probably less than a tenth of a percent. Unless you want to talk years into the game (past the era T2A seeks to recreate) and even then the number of people who could afford to multi account and accumulate >5 houses was probably still minute.
I like T2A and have been here on and off for a long time, but retaining something thats broken in the name of "era accuracy" when it just doesnt add up that way anymore makes no sense. As there probably is no one truth or no one absolutely correct correct answer at this point due to subjectivity and people using differing forms of logic not to mention protecting self interest, its really difficult to make everybody happy. It seems housing is broken as is, and I dont see any plus for using sideways logic to justify keeping it that way. This shards biggest enemies are stagnation or issues that are detrimental and preventative to increasing server pop.

What you are describing is not mechanical era accuracy (the goal of the shard) but social era accuracy (something the staff clearly cares less about).
Second Age only wants a mechanical replication of the T2A era, not the social one.

Anyone can buy a house for sure by saving up ___ x amount of money, to me thats not even part of the issue. I see it as the way housing works as it stands now is a huge detriment to server evolution and population.

Housing is not accurate for sure!!
I remember when I started playing during t2a I had to share a house because buying one would set me back millions! And there was NO WAY in hell you could place one.
