Sounds like some of you are looking for a pre-t2a server. If this is the case you're in the wrong place.
I also got to thinking about something here Slade. I do believe you are one of the people that argues non-stop about dex based healing. This is very interesting. You want a feature introduced a patch or two before the UOR publish, but now you're wanting thieving changes that was introduced a few patches after the t2a publish. I hardly think the staff here is picking and choosing it sounds more like the latter involving a specific few individuals.
Hrm, a dexer thief that uses healing. I'm wondering if anyone else here is starting to see the personal agenda that I'm seeing...
All I have left to say is that accuracy comes before personal initiatives.

I am ok with the changes, I still rob people blind when they are unaware. It was sort of the whole point "to me" of being a thief to hide, stealth, steal then run away. I do get tired of the thief that runs up to you steals something petty trying to make you agro.

YES please implement this.
Don't forget the requirements for statloss though:
The outlaw must be killed under the following circumstances:
* The person who kills him must be a player (of course)
* The person who kills him must have a lower tally of reported murders than the outlaw does.
* The person who kills him must be above neutral notoriety.

WRONG. I couldn't care less which healing method you use because neither of them really affect me.
If anything, I would argue AGAINST dex-based healing because none of my healing characters have 100 dex.
Thank you, try again.
Edit: I take that back, Cleveland has 100 dex, but that's because he's the only character I have without magery. I never once complained about not having dex-based healing though that I recall, and if I did it wasn't with any real vigor. Probably simply playing Devil's Advocate, which I do somewhat often on any number of issues. We need both sides of the debate.

I tried searching and could not find the link to the changes made to stealing. From reading through the discussion on this thread it appears that you can no longer steal house keys or deeds to buildings? Please post a link to the forum where I can read about these changes. Thank you.
I was also curious to ask about this :
12/9/97
Bounty hunting
* When the outlaw is killed under the above circumstances
o They lose 10% from all stats and skills on the spot, regardless of resurrection methods.
I do not recall this ever being on OSI shard during that time period. Where was this information posted? I pk'd the entire time I played UO and did not suffer through stat loss until after trammel was introduced.
Anyways back to the discussion please post the link to changes done to thieving that is causing this uproar. Thanks.

Why would we downgrade to a stat loss sytem that was never active during t2a? You do realize that the statloss system in use here was implemented in 1998? It would make absolutely no sense to back track to a system that never existed on a t2a server. Remember accuracy...

Kavian said it, not me.

Umm on OSI you couldn't "macro" Carto past 99.5, after that point you had to decode treasure maps (so yes you could prebuy a ton of treasure maps and macro it then and you can do that here too)
I believe lockpicking was the same (except 95.4 and not 99.5) - but I'm not 100% sure on this but I do remember having a friend who spent months getting from 96 to 100 lockpicking because it couldn't be macroed.

You couldn't be more wrong Roadkill. I have posted on this before, and it was responded to. It was a post-UOR patch that introduced this. I brought this up a few months ago and Derrick responded that it was going to stay this way to protect the economy. I have no problem with it being like this, nor am I against the changes to thieving, but I would like to see a little consistency.
For example in a recent thread about the patch that made whole account house banning, it was implied more feedback from the players would be needed. I question this. Pick a date (patch certain) and try to make it accurate to that point.
A couple of points I make regarding this is:
Skill Management came in pub 1 Nov 23 1999
http://update.uo.com/design_33.html, but Stat Management was pub 16 post UOR (Aug. 22 2002)
http://update.uo.com/design_428.html.
Cartography changes were implemented August 20, 2001
http://update.uo.com/design_362.html but remain for economy balance even though the UO:R publish was April 28, 2000.
This is a fabulous shard, and I certainly am not intending to disparage it in any way. I am trying for consistency and more importantly accuracy, and I hope that is how it is taken. I suggested before, take Publish 1 (as an example) and try to replicate UO to that point. That would eliminate the possible “cherry picking” rule set perception.

These are all issues that we know about. As with any change, we prioritize the change based on how necessary we feel that that change show up as soon as possible. The cartography changes are not considered a major change because it constitutes only a 1 point variance from what you can accomplish now, despite the difficulty of gaining in the upper 90's. The issue with stat locking has been discussed several times before, and was on the table as a current issue even before I came on board 5 months ago. While nothing has been done yet about either of these issues, and several others, we know about many of the issues that we have currently and are trying to deal with them in order of severity.

ANYONE who gets CHAIN LIGHTNING casted on them twice, would know that the player is most likely out of mana, and even so, Hemperor and his paragank style of play still couldn't dent Insolence's health bar. From the screen shots, and the fact that Im the one who Gave Slade the rune, I know that at this time there was one else there. So Hemperor, you have a LOT of rebuilding to do on your Reputation before you can start making call outs again . . . and BTW 100 event wins in a row will not do that, leave the house . . . If Hemperor could mark his rune on his steps he would, cause as soon as he recalls home, he rushes inside.
Hemperor, the lamest player in UOSA history!
Excuse me boys, whenever I came outside Slade would run like a little bitch for screens while redlined. I had him past 8% more than once, he would then come crying in IRC because I was using a lightning wand that only had 7 charges on his ass. I'm sorry but if you show up to my house, I'll use whatever the fuck I want.
He would chain lightning and run like a bitch. These screenshots don't show that, do they? I have asked all of you many times to 1v1 duel rules before and you all ignore, and now you twist pictures.
1v1, or stfu.
EDIT: Might I also add, this is when I was in the process of packing up all my shit to move, they knew this and thought it would be their last shot at getting inside. After slade ran like a bitch for screens he brought in 2 MORE mages. Then sivrik and clyde showed up to HELP me move, not to fuck them up. We simply came in the house and then Slade in irc was all "OMG GANK LOL U SUCK".
Hypocrites.

It's a bit hard to twist pictures of you at half life saying "I ban thee" as you flee into your house with me on your tail.
Or one where your doors are still open from you running back inside as I go for the finisher with you at 15% life.
What color is the sky in Hemperorworld?

Once again you twist the picture. "I ban thee" and me around 25% health are two seperate pictures, the one where I am that low there is clearly an energy vortex in my house.
I do not have a dispel hotkey or icon on my screen (although I do now since I got a bigger monitor yesterday) so it took me a while to get rid of it.
Funny how these are the only pictures you will show.
No comments on you running for 5-10 minutes at a time redlined? Why would I continue to come out, kick your ass, watch you run forever, while I'm trying to move my house?
Come fight right now pussy, I'll record it.
