no similar usernames or passwords allowed

and i completely understand your point and i am sure that the same reason's you feel it would be "detrimental" to the shard are the same things that many people are already doing and getting away with all over the place in ways that are near impossible to catch like the following examples.
1 " my wife ,brother and girl wants to play etc etc"
2 they have multiple isps in 1 location
3 proxys
4 remote desktop connections to other locations
etc etc
and these people get the perks we don't want them to get extra house holding etc etc.
anyone who does not really care about the policy on this can find away around this account limit and its a problem.
do i have a solution to this no, making it harder to get accounts just hurts shard population.
if i were allowed to have a 4 account i would still like to see only 3 logged in per person limit in effect etc.
edit 1 Even just 1 Character slot on my existing 3 accounts would be awesome.

I'm not about people owning 20 houses, but I wouldn't mind some more chars to play around with

And players we would have if it were one house per account. I know a few players that shy away from servers where people just exist to refresh 15 houses.

I say limit accounts to 1. This server is ruined as a community because of multiple accounts.
1: ) In era, if you spare a stat pk's life, they were grateful and might be your friend. They also appreciated you NOT giving them counts and then rezed you.
Here, you spare a pk, they come back and gank you with their friends. Might rez you and then rez kill you and loot. My point: PKs have it so easy here, murder status means nothing other than "can't go in guards".
2:) Crafters on every account kinda makes it hard for any crafter to make the kind of gold you would expect to be making in era. Crafters were the richest people in game back then. Here, the only way to make good money as a crafter is to have a good spot where people always go.
3:) Ghosting makes pvp pretty damn easy for people coming to get you.
4:) We have less people here than in era but more treasure hunters and 10X the amount of good magic items on the market than in era. This is ridiculous. The only decent selling item is halbard of vanq.
Multiple accounts is what makes everything so hard on new starters here. Everyone has such an insane leap forward, they almost always need help to start here.

multiple accounts is the very thing that makes it easy to start here...........derp please tell me how being able to macro 2 clients while playing 1 for cash makes it harder to start here? vs if you only had 1 character? help ? i got zero hand outs.......?
i also disagree with 1-4 and we didn't always have so many gm cartography people until we made it so that you can gm by making world maps.
Plus staff is not going to take 2/3 accounts away from people or shard wipe so keep dreaming. Why is that because people will still break the account limit as i already pointed out and it wont solve anything.
as far as the hally goes well that has to do with fixing pvp mechanics .... and not how many accounts people have.

If I'm not stealing or idoc hunting, I'm usually mapping. And trust me, the good items are few and far between. I don't pk, or even pvp so that is irrelevant to me. I'd just like the flexibility to have more characters for different templates. I probably will never own a fisherman just because my thieves will take 4 -5 char slots. But they are all different thieves. Diverse temps are what make this game great, it's just too bad there are 3 or 4 chars I probably will never make because of the 15 char limit. And I'm all about 1 house per account, non era accurate, but who needs 15 houses? People need that almost as much as they need 18 castle deed pink homo sandals.

I agree with GK on pretty much all his points on this topic. Unfortunately, there is no really good way to handle the situation now because it would either require a shard wipe or for Derrick to say "Ok, pick your favourite account cause the others are going bye-bye". Both would be very bad decisions unless he wanted to do a full shard reboot.
The economy in UOSA is thrashed. While some commodities have some value, there are way too many players with way too much gold. Part of this is because of the multiple account situation. Back in T2A, it took a lot more work to become GM in anything. Now, we game the system by using razor and multiple accounts. Hell, it took me months to GM magery back in T2A.

If they could move characters between accounts, I would be fine consolidating into a single account.

Well, a lot of folks here are old schoolers who appreciated the dynamic of a player base (mostly) limited to 5 characters each back in the day. The crafting economy would flourish supporting the active PvP and PvM communities both, while drastically reducing the ability of any one player to be entirely self-sufficient.
While I respect that option here, I'm also not in favor of it. I really only have about five characters that I actually play with. Sturm, Nystul, Blaise and Zorn, with occasional play on my tamer Rudyom.
