Sorry if you cannot understand it...I been on both sides of this battle.

If you ever played a tamer (or faced one) you know this is how the story goes.

It's usually along these lines if he doesn't gate out in time.

Tamer gets dumped or double teamed, gets constant interrupts whether it be krysses slashing at your face or harm spams...tamer runs screaming for his life to heal, comes back and his pets have a summons on them or are DPed in some way or being lured through a gate...gets chased around some more...plays chicken with his head caught off until he admits defeat one way or another.

Being able to g-heal yourself every 3 seconds from wand and potion by alternating them, being able to bandage the pets...maybe even with a dexxer suit on with a dress macro(...at least in pvp because you aren't using mana to heal as much) seems a better alternative then hoping your pets can stay alive while you are staying busy trying to keep yourself healed.

Tamers with wrestling, unless they are with guildies usually are easy hits. Ask Guardian Knight

If you read up you would see I use GK's template and advocate using the hiding skill over this stand and fight mentality. I have been pked approximately twice while farming. If you have mace fighting instead of wrestling, how are you going to get a spell off to aid in your defense because you can't count on a gheal wand against skilled pks.

You can't bandage hidden...you know that don't you?

All that hiding would allow you to do...is bring your PVP character in...Until you are revealed then killed.

the exact reason you want Wrestling and resist to be able to gate out. You can still use a pot and you can still toggle a gheal item for the brief second you have macing weapon in your hand while you use a hotkey to use item in hand and target self.

Yes you could good point...but you would still have to withdraw for a moment to ensure you wouldn't get hit. And if you are taking alot of abuse that could be alot of running. And that's exactly what the enemy is trying to do....get you as far from your pets as possible.

Strategy: Hide while dragons kill spawn, command them to stay then bandage them, rehide. If someone comes in while you are hidden you recall, having a MR up will give you a high success rate and you wont need macing to fight off those dastardly murderers. As usual, your template is more designed to do something different than everyone else and doesn't seem practical, unless you have some data from trying it out with your tamer, who I assume also has 65 anatomy and healing so you can fight pks off when they catch you in Rat Valley.

I still dont see the value in 100 points on hiding when invis items are 100 gp or less a charge and arguably more useful than the hiding skill.

archaic, i totally see where you are coming from regarding macing. i have a better idea though.

drop resist for 50 mining and 50 stealing. why? because while your pets have the monster distracted, you can steal the gold from them. since stealing has a 10 second time out and you dont want to be standing around twiddling your thumbs between steals, you can mine the dungeon walls. this gives the maximum profit per hour ina dungeon. don't even bother killing the monsters with dragons, just use a shit ton of grizzly bears since you are only distracting the monster. the grizzly bears will survive the attack from the monster while you steal all of the gold and mine the place dry. this allows you to drop a fair amount of taming and lore for blacksmithy. with the ingots you get from mining the dungeon walls, you craft armor to sell to players from your vendor shop. easy profit.

It's all about the strategy that you use while farming. I use a strategy that is 100% non-confrontational, basically hiding with MR up only coming out of hiding to heal my pet or recall to a bank to drop off loot. Resist would be useless because it is for standing and fighting, and evaluating intelligence is useless because my dragons are my eval. Also, I know you don't see this in most pk hunts( which are usually just tank mages) but there are some squads that use detect hidden, and without hiding they are gonna detect through your invis item 100% of the time.

Okay that's a good tactic...but if someone dispels it and you are without magic resist, you are kind of a sitting duck aren't you?

For all you cat box miners out there...there is already a thread for that.

And you aren't going to MR a Meteor Swarm, or Earthquake or anything else that's going to hit you and draw your pets. I think resist is necessary. I know wrestling is the most common choice, but on how strategy is conducted against a tamer...a well equipped macer might very well stand a better chance.

It's an option looking into and combat skills are fairly easy to trade off to give it a shot.
