This will no longer be an issue once the gate is randomized.

yea shinies! are a orcs best friend! if i can kill a human and get paid i'll do itMcTavish wrote:I have not got a pk char but after an event I tele'd to Bucs by accident as I ran through red gate. I ended up in the trap of these orcs and escaped with teleport. I then came back and killed one or two. I've met a few in Vesper after they tried to turn in the head of some pk they had killed - is this normal orc style?
I can also see this becoming an issue with blue gates as well once the server grows to a certain point. However, there are different locations you can go through for the blue gates unlike the red. I still can see it becoming a problem since a lot of people simply go through the Britain gate. I don't see why all the gates simply don't take you to random locations, or simply add an invulnerable tag for 15-30 seconds after you leave an event. That would be plenty of time to avoid these typical ganks for anyone.BloodyBandage wrote:The argument of you can tele or suck it up is not really applicable here...if you have 5 people waiting at the entrance gate para ganking you there's not much you can do. Remember I'm talking about entering the tournament, not exiting.
What you are indirectly asking for are Event specific characters. I can make a character just for events with no wars so their are no oranges or gankers at the gates. Is that what you want? Once the shard gets even more popular you will be seeing oranges camping the town entrances as well. It's not merely a red/blue thing. I would like to participate in the events with the character I'm known as ingame, not a random character I made for events. If you want to take the argument of making shit hardcore make one entrance to the tournament at Hyloth 4. Then we'll really have some fun. Looks like the entrances are going to be randomized as well Faust? Not sure I caught that correctly.
Seconded. And as always, the Bloodrock is here for everyones fun, not just our own. When a thing like this occurs its fun for us, its some new tactic to try. But when it happens over and over again it becomes 'griefing' more or less and many of us in Bloodrock try to put a stop to it.Krug'gruk wrote:yea, gate krimping is a pretty lame tactic. I'd rather just sit in bucs and try and find a fight after the events. I know I'd be pissed if I had a char in significant stat loss who got smashed the second they came through a gate after an event. I wouldn't think you should see this happen in the future, however, it's probably a good idea to randomize the spawn location out of events to deter this in the future.
How about..Derrick wrote:In retrospect I probably shouldn't gotten involved here. My thoughts were that I wanted to players to be able to get to the events. Alatar does make a good point that a recall spot into bucs to a spot adjacent to the moongate should get you there with ease unless it's walled off.
I'l be willing to address making changes to event entrance points, as we did to the exit points, but I do appologize for getting involved last night.
Hey Alatar, GREAT ideas, except I'd prefer it if you had referenced where you had found them(see below), to avoid any plagarism.alatar wrote:How about..
Randomize Exit Locations.
Make Entry-Gates a static that is non-wallable. In other words, field spells such as energy field & wall of stone should not block or prohibit visibility of the moongate. You can always just double-click it to go thru while standing next to it.

In any circumstance, doesn't it at least seem somewhat exploitative when to leave the arena reds always appear in the same square, and can be insta-killed (boxes around the square with 4 dexers either side) just for the sake of attending a tourney. Perhaps, just to mitigate the certainty of death in this situation, make reds appear in random/difference places around Bucs once they walk through the tourney gate.
Also, the gate which takes reds to the tourney should be classed as an item which blocks the wall spell. Recalling in and having the gate walled over is lame in itself.
