Interesting fix, not sure exactly how accurate the info is though?

My XP laptop that does not have .Net 4 just updated Razor and still works properly.. so that's odd then. But also my installation was done with our client installer which handles a few razor permissions, none of which really apply to XP but still...

Also, Razor was not recompiled for .Net 4 so there's not even a requirement there. Also if it was a .NET error there would be an error message saying as much, and the program wouldn't run.

But if the fix works then great.

.Net 4 also includes .Net 3.x which actually reports as 2.x.
I agree that it's strange this fix worked. It seems to be limited to those running Windows XP though. It could be a version problem with some other .dll due to the system characteristics or configuration under which it was compiled.

Ah yes, you are correct. I just compiled a .net 3.5 exe on my laptop and checked it out, target framework is the same as in the Razor image. And I also just verified that the 3.5 exe will run on .net 2.0 (so long as no 3.5 features are used, i suppose).

But just following up on a convo I had with Derrick, I ran and updated Razor on XP x64, with no service packs, and only .net 2.0 -- and everything still worked fine. So it's definitely a limited issue only for people that have some sort of faulty configuration on their computers.

Whatever fix you can find that works for you individually, go for it!

And since I like to pick at the details, .net 4 does not include anything other than .net 4 :)

Well I went and grabbed the Service Pack 2 and the .NET 4 framework which my computer would not take. So I tried updating my windows which let me DL the .net 4 but then upon restart I received blue screen error! :( I tried a restore a couple times at a few points but it would not execute properly. I eventually had to go in Safe Mode and remove 31 Security and Hotfix updates for XP and my computer finally booted up. I'm not sure wtf to do but i think I'll just leave my computer alone and play without Razor. THanks for the help anyways guys!

that's where what's his name copy/pasted the info from..... none of it applies to WinXP though and seems to be a completely different (and very random) problem.

If you are running Windows XP Home Edition your computer will not support .net 4 framework. Although Microsoft does offer an upgrade to Windows Vista "If" you have the SP3 but Home Edition once again...does not support this software. UOAssist seems to work fine but I had a few problems getting it to locate my client.

At least now I will be able to see those changes Derrick made to night sight.

Found a XP macro program that works very similar to Razor. Not the greatest for making quick macro's but effective.
http://www.flashplayerpro.com/EasyMacroRecorder.exe

It's a little tricky to make it loop correctly but works really good once you get it going. Quite hard to perform other tasks...even typing when the program is running though. I'm not sure if this is cause it's actually a scripting program or if i just need to modify my macro a little.
