Pro Tip: The only way to securely place a house on UOSA is to use GuardianKnight and Kelektra's broker service. They charge 10k + deed for a small. 20k + deed for a large L or brick. 60k + deed for anything larger. Technically, however, they will only co-own you, since you have to pay 10k a month rent and you might have a roommate or two.

Blackfoot is the sole reason for the lack of land.

I see spots for cute smalls but i already have 3 of those..
I have been running around looking for places to put a Tower or maybe even a keep. I havent been able to find anything. Guess it probably easier to buy those types of houses.

tower is the largest you will still MAYBE find a spot for. even then, you'd be lucky to get one that isnt in a swamp or ice island. placed keeps go for nearly double the deed price, sometimes more.

If you take a look at the client growth chart..
Then think about how many houses were available 6 months ago, extrapolate to 1-2 years ago, you can vividly see that the availability of housing locations does NOT meet a regressionary pattern given by the clients. This means that either people are quitting and only refreshing their houses (possible), but more likely, people are owning more property. This would indicate that for some reason a need for more housing has occured, (which is incorrect given the empty houses everywhere). My guess in the need to own more property is either..
a.) Everyone wants to own an entire location and form a guild town with addons etc (you know, that is a pretty common occurance) but lacks the follow-through and ultimately just wastes space with their 50 member guild of alts.
or
b.)the more likely scenario: people here want to feel like some UO big-shot house dealer to make up for something they never accomplished in OSI-UO, and will damage the availability to new players to get there. Pathetic.
Ever notice how so many people here "made thousands on ebay", "was a GM on <insert shard>", was the best/first <something> on <shard>, or "had several 7x GM's"? Is that likely? Compensating much? Freud would liken your impotency to repressed past-UO experiences.

One L-Shape is more than enough for me... I have no idea of what people do with 15 houses.

I've been here since early this year, and I must say that I have noticed that now there is MUCH more land available. When I got here I paid 2 x small deeds for a small house close to the Minoc-Vesper bridge, because most decent locations were already occupied. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to place a small one or two screens behind that to lend out to new players, and I wouldn't even think of selling as I won't get even 5k over deed for it, since there are other empty spots around.
The tower we placed and are selling, a couple of months back someone would've paid a keep deed for it the same day it was posted, now, no one has offered deed + small eventhough it is the only placed tower currently for sale on the forums. I will probably end up giving it to a guildmate for his personal use.
Just run around and see the number of IDOCs and Greatly Worns around. It won't take you more that 30 minutes of running around to find a couple of IDOCs in good places. Houses are decaying more than any other time this year.
I do not think there is a "housing crisis" in UOSA right now. A couple of months back, you had an argument, not right now. Now, it's hard to sell real estate, no one is buying because they can place their own.

I have an L-Shape, just like I did on GL.
I have absolutely no desire for anything larger.

I'm all for as much era accuracy as possible, but I DO think 5 houses per player is more than enough. Multiple houses are a great thing and are era accurate, but seeing as how the vast majority of players only had one account, we should be keeping the housing around the same.
On the flip side, having to try and either find the rare house spot or buy something above deed is era accurate too. So the argument is I guess, era accuracy through ownership, or era accuracy through play experience.

I have repressed UO feelings that I must express by buying 15 castles, and talking about them daily.

Are you that effyou guy who owns half the castles in the Bloody Plains and won't sell any of those empty castles for less than 30 million gold?
