Brules wrote:To the OP: You are an idiot and a moron. They are not "out of hand", as no player town add ons have been added since I have been here other than the sloooooow work at the UoH museum. I dont think you ever played OSI shards, as they were chock full of add ons and towns and the only thing they cost the players was time and effort.....It's era accurate, so the only thing anyone can argue about is what to do when said establishments fail/go inactive. They are a part of the game and as you can see the arenas get plenty of use, and UoH has more than earned whatever pixels they have with the countless dungeon crawlsa dn other great events.
Judging from your post, what were you like 2 years old during T2A? I am 35 and I assure you I played T2A. Flame some more lol. I never said it wasn't accurate. I stated that it was few and far between to get these things from Origin. Origin would hold huge contests on the website here and there for some of this stuff. It wasn't a "hey I have a big guild can I get an arena". lmfao
Arenas were built on towers and such. I never mentioned your guild and lets be honest here. Does anyone really deserve anything on these free shards? Just the fact you think you deserve something from here just shows how much of an egotistical tool you are. I am just stating an opinion of my thoughts on it. No need for you to type with fists. lol

If those who administrate said free shard think so, then yes. Yes they do.
Also I think Brules is in that weird Nazi hipster guy's guild, not UoH. But I could be wrong.

LOLZ.
I'm pretty sure that there was a secret video of a bunker discussion uncovered earlier this year.

It's the same thing as owning 3 accounts, using razor, inflate housing...neither era accurate nor totally inaccurate. They were possible, but only for a very few players.
Me,as an hardcore nostalgic, would like to se all those things removed,or at least reduced to a more accurate players vs awesome add-on ratio, but on the other hand i understand that things have changed during the years, and furthermore this is a free shard, thus limiting such features to some chosen players only would be incorrect, while removing them totally would be kind of inaccurate. There is no answer to this problem. This reminds me of the theory of games by Popper

For how well you can replicate something, that replica will never be perfect. The concept of replica itself bring with it the concept of flaw. For how accurate secondage would be,it will always have some inaccuracy.
I feel philosophic tonite

Seriously........are people ever going to stop making these threads. People legitamently think that they're making epic posts with this topic. It's been done over 21378462976446 x 10 times over. Please let it rest, play the game, and let the GMs and developers GM and devlop.

i often use the duel arena north of trinsic, just because it's handy to my location. i've seen the one in mYm town in use also. have never even seen the other duel arenas. i don't think it's "out of hand"
on wakoku we had custom made duel arenas in the swamps (which were basically ~10x10 areas made out of GY type fencing, with gates to get inside). they probably still exist. and yes, that was in era. i never played wakoku out of era.

The player run towns are most definitely earned they are not just given to anyone. You will find that the guilds who have player run towns have contributed a lot to this shard (or did in the past). Guilds like $$$, K^A, T2A, TB, mYm, cA, Bloodrock, etc.. have brought a lot of life to the shard and it wouldn't be the same without them with the influence they've had.

Presumably cA got an invisible/stealth town? I guess that's appropriate.

3 ACCOUNTS FOR EVERYONE IS LEGITIMATE BECAUSE I HAD 3 BACK IN THE DAY.
4, HOWEVER POSSIBLE IN THE ERA, IS NOT ACCURATE BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE 4. NEITHER IS 2, I SAID I HAD 3.
best argument ever

Sorry kid, but I am older than you are.
One of many player town arenas on Baja, that the GM's built for them because they were active and contributed to the shard. No huge contest etc. You had to be active and contributing to the shard. You didnt even have to pay for them or pay to maintain them.
Schools out.

BobDobbs wrote:A few thoughts regarding the OP:
1. Players did "make do" with what they had for the most part. In special cases, OSI used their powers to grant special decorations and buildings. I see no real difference between OSI and UOSA in terms of special decorations and buildings.
2. I'm skeptical that special decorations and buildings drastically add to save time. If they did, I'm not sure staff would allow them.
3. If the sole intention of custom towns were to act as a gold sink, anyone with buckets of gold would have the ability to purchase them. This is not the case.
4. I do not think new players say "why does player X get something I don't?" when stumbling across custom areas. Instead I think they say "wow this is neat."
thank you makes sense
