I think the rules here are setup so the server doesn't bring attention to itself and get derrick sued.
I think the reason Derrick doesnt want it in irc or on the forums is for this very reason. When someone gets duped he doesnt want to have to sort out the mess.

Selling in-game items for currency could perhaps be grounds for legal trouble for the shard owners.

I am not sure an arrangement like this would qualify as rule breaking, although it is rule bending.

Regardless, it is Derrick's job to interpret the rules. Not ours.

Everyone knows that everylynn was a dirty cheat but they were too consumed with the stuff he was selling to care. We'll defame and blacklist BeatingU for a small house scam but push something like this aside. I wonder what kind of evil scale some of the people here are working on.

You'll avoid beatingu for a year but the second Eve starts selling a server birth, you'll probably hand him your money without a broker. *sigh*

Oh I agree with you 100%. IF these allegations are true, then Everylynn is the biggest piece of scum on this shard. To meet with someone irl, get to know them then scam them is taking it beyond just a game. Your no longer playing scum, you ARE scum. Like I said, IF this is true. We havent heard both sides yet. So im not jumping to conclusions.

Actually the reason I avoid BeatingU is because he told me on IRC it was wise to as he was only trying to get me to come outside so he could scam me.

Well yeah , i was just talking about where it all started.

BeatingU does lure you out of your house by putting stuff on your steps then sneak in with another char.

He also hides in castles he sells you to loot you later. He is shady.

I'm sure everyone will pretend he did nothing later if he has something you want.

All I can say is, whoever got the castle...and I should know considering I broker'd the deal...got a HELL of a deal.

Also, just give the man the computer...ffs how much is an old computer worth anyways.

Seems to my Kylock got ripped off, even if he gets the computer.

How much time (2-2.5 years) to accumulate all that shit?

Seems like he was working for .05 an hour. I have an old computer (slightly dismembered) in my closet, could run crisis, age of conan all that stuff, probably Sc2 on low settings, gimme 40 mill.

given it's probably worth like $200, that's $5 per mil.

farming EGs = 60k/h tops uninterrupted, 17 hours to make 1 mill, payout is roughly $0.3 per hour. wtf am i doing farming gold when i make 30 cents in roughly 45 seconds at work? it's 80 times more efficient for me to just work an extra hour per day.

This is exactly the point. I don't want us subjected to any legal action even if it's simply the production of evidence in any legal disagreement or the failure of any deal surrounding anything that is denominated in cash. Therefore any virtual thing on UOSA that is exchanged for anything tangible is subject to forfeiture, likely by the banning of the holders accounts, and without regard to who is in possession of it. This renders all transactions worthless.

If we do find any exchange of goods for cash or other tangible property, we do reserve the right, but are in no way obliged to cancel the related accounts or confiscate the items.
