Aye, the bothersome thing about this is that some people are reporting constant desycs in the last couple weeks, and others see no change, and very infrequent desynchs.

It would be very helpful to find some common theme in the two groups so the problem can be better pinpointed.

I am working on this, but more hints would be great.

Thanks!

As others have pointed out, my desynching issues seem to arise from attempting to move while casting. Doesn't matter if it is recall, I desynched while casting an ebolt once.

Simple fix? Probably stop moving while casting, but that is just a workaround.

What is a desync?

From what i have seen described in this thread, i have never had a single desync, since i started playing this shard shortly after it became public. It sounds a lot like it has something to do with the potential spamming of third party apps?

Would a desynch consist of me casting and moving then all of a sudden get stuck in a certain spot? That's happened to me numerous time if so and the only cure for it was to log out & log in.

Yes, that is a desynch. Go into Razor and goto the Hotkeys tab. Under Misc, bind a key to "Resync Client"... I use F12. Whenever it happens again, just hit F12 and you should be good to go. No need to logout/logon.

Yes, that is a desynch.

If you use razor you do not have to log in/out to rectify the problem tho. Razor has a hotkeyable feature under the "miscellaneous" tab called "Re-synchronize Client". Assigning a key to this and using it when you synch will allow you to come out of it, letting you move again and preventing the need to log.

That's good to hear, thanks for the info. I now know what that is for and next time hopefully I won't die because of it.

I find i get out of sync often when theres a big group around. And everyone is running, Casting, Healing ect.. Ill go in and out of sync often.

Maybe someone in that group is using a third party program other then razor? and it un-syncs the other players?

Derrick,

To re-inact.
Monitor a large pvp guild.
Wait till there is action.
Drop your hidden charecter run with the group casting spells on your self, like hjeals, Bless, Protection, ect.. keep up with everyone and you should go out of sync atleast once.

My best suggestion hope this helps.

Good call on the F12, I've had to ue it multipe times already and it's way more convenient.

I have this problems in hythloth lvl3 / lvl 4 and it seems to me that these stucks are commonly occurring on cave floors like the ctf cave.

But i cant see an increase.

Throwing my 2 cents in a little late in this discussion:

I've definitely noticed an increase of desyncs lately (I'm one of the guildies Kabal mentioned). I, too, have it occur with groups, but not always during battle, but at least initially, it did seem worse while there's a lot of that sort of "activity", but then again the fact I notice it more when it almost kills me versus when I'm chatting about housing with my guildies might merely be psychological.

I think the casting theory is a deadend because I have this happen on my dexer.

The last night I played my pvp'r was Thursday (I think) and that's when the desync (and a TG gank squad) sent him into stat. I might be crazy but I only recall desynching that one time at the end, but even that might not have been a desync (there's this weird "hill" inside Destard just to the NE of the entrance and i might have been legitimately stuck inside a hill tile). On the other hand, maybe I was desynching a lot that night, too, and now i'm just so used to spamming my resynch key at any sign of trouble that I don't notice it much.

Sorry if that all seems vaque but that's the sort of reality with this problem. I'd like to say it happens exactly under such and such circumstances but the occurence just vary to widely.

There was a recent Razor patch. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks.
I've been trying to nail this to razor or client version changes, but there doesn't seem to be any common thread.

I may be able to do some form of server side solution, but it's going to result in increased data transfer, and I don't want to do that unless it's really shown to be necessary.
