Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
What's the beef with the way PvP works here? I have never been big on PvP so that's why I'm asking. Major difference I've noticed is the inability to disrupt via Harm or Debuffs etc. Honestly I don't even see alot of people even trying this. Is this due to a server mechanic or to player skill?

the only evidence supporting current mini heal damage that you have is from the prima guide and the demo? no patch notes?Faust wrote:We should believe some random guy by the name of Redrum even though he has produced no information to support these claims!

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
There's no patch notes at all on mini heal, and the web references provided above (quite a few of them over a long period of time) would indicate that there would be no patch notes, as it shows there's no reason to belive that the formula for in Mani ever changed from the inception of UO to current day.marmalade wrote:the only evidence supporting current mini heal damage that you have is from the prima guide and the demo? no patch notes?Faust wrote:We should believe some random guy by the name of Redrum even though he has produced no information to support these claims!

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
As I've mentioned before I havent ever really gotten "hardcore" into PvP, but I have done quite a bit of it. The mini-heal has always been a means of escaping death. I don't see any drastic difference between the amount it heals for here and other "T2A" servers I've played on.
Duels between two people still come down to who knows how to disrupt better, manage mana better, and time their combos effectively. Field PvP still comes down to teamwork.
Just because people can survive your explosion, e-bolt, hally whack combo using mini heal doesn't mean its over powered, and just because a fights don't always end in 5 secs doesnt mean the PvP here sucks.

no duels between two people come down to who gets the 45 damage ebolt, who gets their gheal cast despite being hit by disrupts, who misses their halbard swing, or who can cast three 16 damage mini heals in a row.Arkosh Kovasz wrote: Duels between two people still come down to who knows how to disrupt better, manage mana better, and time their combos effectively. its all too luck based. i understand uo pvp has always been down to partial luck, but its starting to get a bit silly now.

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
Okay then, I've mentioned this in another thread. I've played on other "T2A" shards and the main difference I'm seeing here is 1. The prescence of mounts and 2. The inability of PvPers (The ones I've had the honor engage) to disrupt, while most don't even try to disrupt.marmalade wrote:no duels between two people come down to who gets the 45 damage ebolt, who gets their gheal cast despite being hit by disrupts, who misses their halbard swing, or who can cast three 16 damage mini heals in a row.Arkosh Kovasz wrote: Duels between two people still come down to who knows how to disrupt better, manage mana better, and time their combos effectively. P.S. Was in the process of writing this when Loathed posted the previous reply. So your saying that the disrupt chance is diffrent here than it should be?
Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
Where is your information to support this case?Loathed wrote:1. Fix the spell disruption time frame.
By this, I'm talking about when someone casts greater heal and they take dmg before their target cursor comes up- they should be disrupted. Minimum dmg to disrupt should be ANY dmg, not a certain number- and for those that use the demo as example- i don't give a shit what the demo says, the DEMO IS WRONG! it's the demo, we're not basing this server on the release date of t2a. Lots of things are hard to get right. Why? Because the patch notes released by OSI didn't have a super detailed description. So lots of guess work involved.
2. Energy Bolts doing 8 dmg- that's not era accurate. (this would be right if the caster had 0 eval and the target had gm resist and it was resisted) but even that's pushing it. You have no proof of energy bolt doing that dmg during the era, why do i need proof of it not doing as stated above, during the era then?
3. idk

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
Wait a minute were suppose to follow your lead because you say so without anything to back your claims up?
Stratics '99 web site that lists the damage values corresponding with code from the demo that is precisely the same is the source son.
What experience are you talking about exactly?

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
The era stratics resist calculator gives a minimum damage of 5 for EB with Gm Magery, Eval and Resist: http://www.uosecondage.com/stratics/UOS ... ulator.htm
This is confirmed by the forumulas from OSI code, and other damages formulas scattered about.

Re: PVPERS? ON STRIKE?
Wait a minute...
So values that match up precisely with ACTUAL code that OSI used doesn't seem right?
Earthquake deals damage based on a value of 20% of your current hitpoints.
How are we sure that you're correct?
At least information and actual osi code for the way it works here currently is being used besides absolutely nothing.
