Actually tamers are the most powerful hally mages are second in that respect.
I have to disagree about the most skill part.
There's a new tourny on the schedule. Let's check it out, my dexer against your mage?

I agree with this. to be great at any class takes skill. Being that the hally mage template is the most effective, it would seem that it shouldnt require as much skill as say it would to be an effective thief mage.

Seems to me that its almost impossible to pvp just about anyone.
I mentioned this before in another thread...Archery is a good secondary weapon skill. It's either good as a first strike, if you can gain some distance with it in the runaround, or if you have a bottleneck type of situation or other terrain advantage happening.
My Goal for my New Archer is this
Archery
Fencing
Tactics
Anatomy
Healing 90
Resist 90
Magery 60*
Wrestling 60*
(*These two I am having a problem on deciding how to spend the remaing 120 points. I want at least minimal wrestling for changing weapons and combat casting. I may go 70 magery 50 wrestling or vice versa)
Stats at 100 85 40

he means more player skill is required to play a hally mage (or any mage) then is required to play a dexxer. ie. there is a greater learning curve.
with a dexxer, doing damage is little more than double clicking and following your target.

In this new tourney type I'd be suprised if you got me under 50%

Hally mages are the easiest template to use. However most people only reach a certain level of "skill" with it.
Playing a melee character takes a lot more skill because you have to use your few greater heals/cures at the proper time due to a low mana pool and you have to be able to stay alive with your 15 second heal timers.
People can argue that warriors run, but a mage can keep a warrior poisoned and knock small spells at them on the go, while the warrior has to get toe to toe to even have a chance to do damage.
Bottomline, any idiot can play a mage effectively, but to play a warrior effectively, you need skill. Items only take you so far (that goes for both mages and warriors)

Well, that's why I'd like to fight. I'd like to fight you because, besides playing a standard tank mage, I know you use more than off-the-shelf tactics and, in this tourny I think it replicates field fighting the best. (Minus the mount and magics)

Wrong, wrong, wrong you are so wrong.
Playing a dexer isn't hard it's all about keeping your stats up and the bandage timer running til you need it.
See the reason you think mages are easier is because you've probably never been good on one you just simplify it down and act like theres 0 timing involved and tbh this whole thing of any idiot can play a mage effectively is so wrong, warrior = double click and follow that shit isn't exactly hard.
Also warriors only have to be within 8 tiles to do damage if you know how to use purple potions. The fact that a template has lower rate of defence doesn't mean its more skillful.

well put. this arguement is so mute its ridic people still argue about it... waiting for the last second of a bandage heal to cast/drink cure isnt nearly as hard as dealing with spell delay/interupt delays etc etc.

Robot: I was addressing the fact that you made this thread to whine about how nerfed tamers are, when they were ridiculously overpowered prior to the tamer patches. As stated previously, there is no such thing as "classes" in-game. These are "templates" of certain "skills" that you can acquire. PvP here is pretty much 100% accurate to T2A, so there is no such thing as any template being "overpowered". It all depends on the skill of the player.
